KIYANNA AWOKE with a heavy heart. 23rd January 2022 was the 6th Anniversary of her Mom's death and was nearing the 3rd Anniversary of her Dad's.
Although she didn't miss her Dad she ever deeply missed her Mom and every single night prayed that it was all a dream.
She slowly dragged herself to the bathroom, taking off each item of clothing until she was fully naked. She had to get ready for her job at McDonald's which started at 12.
She always started getting ready three hours early as she needed to leave enough time to make sure she looked presentable, walk there and clock in early.
As the hot water hit her body she began to feel warm tears going down her cheeks. Sometimes she would cry and not even know why she was crying. Sometimes she would know why she wanted to cry but no tears would come out.
So, when she was crying she would let it happen. She always bottled up her emotions anywhere outside of the shower so this was a place of escapism.
After finishing her shower she turned off the water and stepped out, wrapping herself in her towel. She walked into her bedroom and over to her closet. She started to take out her normal uniform and some underwear before closing the closet door.

As she started to walk to work she put her earbuds in and began playing her favourite King Von song, Took her to the O.
She began to nod her head as the song plays, completely drowning out the noise of cars speeding past.
The watcher, kept their gaze on Kiyanna to ensure she would get to work on time and safely.
"Yo, Kiyanna!" someone called out, making Kiyanna whip her head around and take an airpod out.
Her best friend TJ jogged up to her as she laughed at him, watching him make his way across the road.
