In her room, Ukiyo giggled with her phone in her hand and rolled on the stomach with the feet swaying behind her back.

Meanwhile, Nanami glared into the room, sneaking quick glances to Gojo. Nanami rolled his eyes and walked away. He reached the kitchen and stirred the soup in the pot.

"She's been like this since last week, Satoru. What is this? She doesn't even tell me what's on that damn phone! What do I do? I can't take her phone away, it's bad parenting, I read it in a magazine. So what do I do?"

"It's amusing seeing you so disrupted, Kento. Don't worry! It's probably just her boyfriend."

Kento physically slouched. "Oh. Okay. That's all. Her boy- HER WHAT! HER BOYFRIEND?! Satoru! You know she can't have a boyfriend right?"

"Why not? She's pretty, she's cute, she's smart, she's responsible. She probably has tons of boys swooning over. One was maybe good enough so she's dating him. It's not a big deal." Satoru laughed and smacked Kento's shoulder. The later pushed him away.

"It is a big deal! You wouldn't know. You're not a dad." Satoru gasped and held his hands to his chest. "I am! I'm raising Megumi." He reasoned.

Nanami sighed. "Yes, but Megumi is a boy. It's different when you're a girl dad. No boy is ever good enough for my little girl" Nanami tried reasoning. "Well then, i suggest that you ask her who the boy is. Talk to the boy. Meet him, and if he's not really a good one, finish him off. Easy!"

Gojo grabbed a spoon and bowl of soup and walked out of the house. Time had passed to soon. These fourteen years felt like seconds. With Ukiyo, Nanami almost never overworked. He had his baby to come home to. He felt as if she's getting older quickly. Too quick for his liking.

Nanami did not want his baby to date anyone. Not yet atleast. But then also, he didn't want his baby to not trust him. He wanted to be reliable for her, he wanted to be trustworthy.

Hesitantly, he called Ukiyo for dinner. She came out of her room, still the phone in her hands. "Hey dad. How are you?". "You would know if you weren't on the bloody phone all day." Nanami grumbled, which went unheard. Ukiyo put her phone in her pocket and helped him bring dishes to the table. After she was done, she was about to start eating just as her phone pinged. She instantly put aside her chopsticks and pulled out her phone, getting busy texting her boyfriend probably.

Nanami had had enough. "Put that damn phone away!" He slapped the table, making Ukiyo flinch. She did as she was told. "Now start eating!" Nanami ordered angrily. She looked down and ate, not uttering a word.

Shoot. He acted like a child who wasn't getting the needed attention. Nanami felt bad for yelling. Anger got the best of him. He shouldn't have raised his voice.

Yes, she was constantly on the phone the entire week, but she almost never even looked at it on the dinner table, or when she sat with him. Nanami was just irrational, because he didn't know what was up.

She was usually quite talkative on the dinner table, but today she kept mum. She didn't say a single word. This made Nanami feel worse. His baby was just looking down at her soup, eating quietly. Nanami hated this silence.

He sighed loudly grabbing Ukiyo's attention. "I... I'm sorry princess. I didn't mean to snap." She smiled slightly and told him it was okay. "No. It's not okay. I just... Well. I say, we talk about this after dinner. Let's keep the dinner table clean and away from the debates."

Ukiyo nodded. "The soup is really good appa. I love it when you put roasted garlic in it."

Nanami smiled "I know princess, that why I put it in. I know you love it this way." This made Ukiyo laugh.

Dinner went ahead peacefully.

After supper, Nanami sat on the floor, in front of Ukiyo, who sat on the couch, her legs crossed. His little princess was the only one for whom he would sit on the floor. She often insisted otherwise but he like to sit in front of her.

"So, what was that all about dad?" Nanami made an annoyed grunt. "You're always on your phone these days, Ukiyo. I just want to know if you... I just want to know what's got you so interested."

Ukiyo blushed a little, fiddling with her fingers. "I haven't told you about it, and I guess it's half my fault. But I wanted to be sure before telling you anything at all." She hesitated a bit, but when Nanami gave her an encouraging nod, she spoke more. "Well, last year, when you put me in the new school, there was a boy in my class and we became close friends. We'd hang out together, and go for icecream, and study together. I started liking him a little more than just as friends. And about a week ago he confessed to reciprocating my feelings, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and i said yes. At first I thought it was a prank, but appa, i don't think it's a prank anymore."

Nanami notes how she was a blusing mess. He rolled his eyes. 'young love'. Disgusting.

Nanami pushed aside all the irritation. He brushed Ukiyo's hair out of love. "Thank you for telling me. I proud of you for not keeping this a secret."

Ukiyo beamed. "Really! You're not mad? Thank you so much appa! I promise you will not regret this!!! And i promise to be responsible while taking choices!!" She spoke, giddy.

"I'll show you his photo" Ukiyo said, fumbling with her phone. "His name is-" Nanami interrupted her. Going against Gojo's advice, he said "Princess no. I don't want to see him, neither do I wanted to know his name. If I find out anything about him I'm pretty sure it wouldn't end up well for him."

"Dad! Don't do that! Please..." Ukiyo whined. Nanami shrugged. "Atleast I'm being honest princess."

Kitchen was cleaned. The living room was tidy. Ukiyo was in bed. Nanami was about to get to bed. He thought. And thoughts. Finally he went to his daughter's room. She was awake.

"Oh, hey appa. Do you need something?" She asked looking adorable, all bundled up in the bed. Nanami gave her a sweet smile and nodded. "What was the name of that boy again? And if you will, show me the picture maybe."

Ukiyo grinned. She grabbed her phone. "His nam- Appa." Her expressions became blank. She rolled her eyes. Nanami looked like a deer stuck in headlights. Half his body was behind the door hiding, but his daughter could see her father's intentions, and he talked too sweetly to be believable.

"Appa, put your blade away. And don't even think about touching him" Nanami laughed awkwardly scratching his head.

"Wh... What blade, honey? I... I have no- no blade on me! GOOD NIGHT!"

I have no- no blade on me! GOOD NIGHT!"

"Lucky bitch. My daughter saved his life today. Keep wishing for good luck, son in law. You're gonna need it" Nanami talked to himself with a sadistic smile.
