Two days later, Ashlyn wakes up and calls Sarah to let her know she's on her way over. She grabs her dress, makeup, and hair stuff. "Zach I'm heading over to get ready with Sarah." She tells him stopping by his room."I'll see you there," she says as she shuts the door.

Ash pulls into the Cameron's driveway, stepping onto the gravel and heading over to the door. She's greeted by Sarah, who's putting decor into her parents' car. "Hey Ash!!" She says excitedly. "You can go ahead and go upstairs, I'll be there soon." Sarah says, Ashlyn nods and heads upstairs to Sarah's room.

Ashlyn decided to shower. By the time Ashlyn was done, Sarah was in her room finishing uo her makeup. "Oh my gosh!! That dress looks so good on you!!" Sarah exclaims. "Thank you Sarah." Ashlyn responds as she is putting on her necklace.

"We need to take two cars, my parents is packed with decor. Can me and Rafe ride with you" Sarah asks. "Yeah sure" Ashlyn says.
"Rafe come on." Ashlyn says knocking on the door of his room. He comes out in a baby blue suit.

holy shit.

"Are you serious?" She asks him. "What?" he says chuckling. She rolls her eyes at him telling him to come on or their going to be late. They decided to take Sarah's car and the two girls sat in the front, blasting whatever mysic was playing.

"Guys seriously, I already hear enough of you guys blasting music can today be a little different?" Rafe asks annoyed. Ashlyn turns around and says "Nope!" she turns back around and Cruel Summer starts to play. The girls scream the bridge causing Rafe to roll his eyes.

They got to the country club to see a bunch of people talking snd hanging out. "I'll find you after we walk in" Sarah says to Ashlyn. Ashlyn goes to find Kiara and Pope because she knows they'll be there. "Hey guys!!" She says as shs approaching them. "Hey!!! Oh my gosh! you look amazing!!" Kie says to her, Ashlyn gives them a twirl as the Cameron's walk in. Rafe and Ashlyn make eye contact with Rafe smiling at her. "Whats going on there?" Kie teases her "Nothing. He's just been really sweet these past few days." Ashlyn responds. "Mhmmm" Pope says. Ashlyn rolls her eyes and heads over to where Sarah and Wheezie are.

"Wheeze! You look amazing!!" Ashlyn says twirling her around. "Rafe's looking for you" Sarah whispers in her ear pointing over to where he's at. Ashlyn walks over to the bar to get a drink. "You going to the after party?" She hears from behind her, "I don't know Rafe. Probably." They talk for a little while, "Don't forget your promise" he says, winking. "I won't Cameron" She says in reply.

A slow song eventually starts to play. Ashlyn spots Rafe from across the dance floor and goes over to him. "I'm not breaking my promise, cmon." She says grabbing his hand. He smiles and looks over to Zach who's giving him a nod.

The two start dancing, looking into each other's eyes. Nothing mattered to either of them except each other in that moment. Ashlyn could feel the butterflies in her stomach.

--- Rafes pov ---

She came over to get me to dance. When we started dancing, I locked eyes with her, and nothing mattered to me. I could see Kie and Pope watching out of the corner of my eye confused. It didn't matter though. She didn't break her promise.

She looked good, the necklace she got matched the dress perfectly, the dress looked perfect on her. Why do I feel this way about her? I've only ever thought of her as my best friends annoying little sister and my sisters best friend.

Ever since the night after we were on the Druthers, she's been talking to me a lot. "Hey ash, can I ask you a question?" I said. "Sure, what's up, Rafe?" she said in response. "Nevermind, I forgot." I knew exactly what I wanted to say, I just didn't know how to say it.
