After a long day of searching for Jasper, Nova finally found a moment to relax. Exhausted, she settled down on a log, her gaze fixed on the crackling fire in front of her. Lost in her thoughts, she found comfort in the quiet night. Suddenly, the sound of someone joining her on the log broke her from her thoughts, drawing her attention away from the fire and towards the unexpected company.
"Hey." It was Octavia.
Nova's smile brightens as she greets Octavia, "Hey girl." She scoots over to make more room on the log, and Octavia leans her head on Nova's shoulder. "Can I ask you something?"
Nova's expression turns concerned as she furrows her eyebrows. "Go for it" she tells Octavia. The brunette sits there for a moment seeming conflicted on if she should speak her mind or not.
She hesitates before speaking. "How did you get caught? I mean... I'm sure you already know how I did. Everyone does." Her voice falters slightly. "I just—I feel like I can't relate to anyone here."
Noticing Nova's startled expression, she quickly backtracks. "Forget I asked," she mutters, looking away.
"No It's just— I've never talked about it with anyone."

ⁿᵉᵃʳˡʸ ᵉⁱᵍʰᵗᵉᵉⁿ ʸᵉᵃʳˢ ᵃᵍᵒ "Twins?" Elias Martin gasps out, sitting in the bathroom of their home on the Ark. His wife, Amber Martin, in the tub next to him, covered in sweat and blood.
Staring at the two babies, clutching Elias' hand tightly, Ambers face etched with fear and excitement, she asks, "What do we do? No one can find out about this." They had known all along that having more than one child was against the rules. But they couldn't bear the thought of giving up one of their babies. They decided they had to keep both, and no one could find out about them. No matter what.
In the candlelit bathroom, Amber started softly crying. Thoughts of one of her precious babies having to live in secret eating her up. Elias sat by his wife's side, eyes filled with worry. He didn't care about the risks, he would protect the children with his life— they both would.
The room filled with the sound of the babies crying, Elias' heart swelled with joy. As Amber and Elias held the twins, they knew their decision would come with challenges. Keeping their family hidden, living in constant fear of discovery. But in that moment all they felt was love.
