Chapter-6

Nandini's POV

I heard people talking outside. I tried to peep through stairs. I could see neonika aunty and uncle sitting on couch and a boy younger than me who I suppose to be his little brother cabir but I couldn't see HIM..

I saw mumma coming towards my room. I quickly sprinted towards my room. She called me down stairs.

My palms felt sweaty, was I being nervous?

I shook my head and took a deep breathe. Calm down nandu..

I saw him, Manik.  He looked really handsome. He looked at me, our eyes locked for a micro second but I felt current jolt down within me.

I slightly smiled at him and he too smiled.. Woahh! That smile was precious..

I bent down to take uncle & aunty's blessing. I had already met Neonika aunty once, she is a really sweet lady.

I sat down beside my brother. I looked at him and he smirked at me. I knew something was going in his mind.

I showed him my eyes, silently warning him not to do anything..

He exclaimed, "Wow Di!! You both are matching.."

I suddenly looked at Manik and he looked really... Embarrassed Ig because everybody were looking at us..

I mentally face palmed myself and gave him a death stare..

Cabir laughed and added, "That's what I was going to say dude.."

They both hi-fied and I was like what are they? Two??

Elders talked for a while, and I was stealing few glances from manik..

I felt butterflies in my tummy when I found Manik looking at me..

Neonika aunty told us to talk privately.. Again I felt nervousness took over me..

I stood up along with Manik, we went upstairs, towards my room..

He was kinda amazed to see my room, because I had paintings and quotes all over my room. A dream catcher jingling on window and fairy lights adoring my pictures on wall..

Manik said, "uhghm, your room is.. Pretty." I replied with a small smile.

We sat in balcony for a while in complete silence.

"You can ask me anything.." We both spoke together.. We stared at each other and chuckled..

He continued, "Tell me something about your self, Nandini"

Damnn!! My name sounds beautiful on his lips..

I spoke, " Uhmm, I'm cardiologist by profession and I like reading novels, I am 22 years old. My mumma and dad wants to see me settled so here we are.."

"Does that mean you are agreeing for marriage under pressure?" He asked looking in my eyes.

"No absolutely not, I didnt meant that.. I mean I didn't know what else to say.." "Tell me something about you.."

"I'm 25, And CEO of Malhotra industries and To-be-honest I'm really looking for my better half who could fill colors in my boring life.. And I think I couldn't find anyone else better than you, nandini.."

I was touched by his honesty, and I really liked him too.. I blushed under his gaze..

"Do you think we would make a good pair?" I asked manik.

"No, we won't make a good pair.." Manik replied, and I didnt knew what to say..

I was going to say something but he cut me off, "We are going to be a great pair.."

He chuckled looking at my expression.

I asked him, "Why are you so sure, that too on first meeting?.."

He came slightly closer to me and engulfed my cold palm into his warm hands..

He looked into my eyes for any discomfort but couldn't find any so he continued..

"Nandini, my life was always about responsibilities. I never felt that connection with anyone until today, after seeing you today I knew you are the one for me, I agree for this marriage.."

I had slight tears in my eyes.. How was I so so lucky to find him..
