Chapter-9

Nandini's POV

I just completed my lunch in the canteen of the hospital..

*Ring Ring Ring Ring*

I frowned at the unknowm number flashing on my mobile phone screen.

I picked up, "Hello?"

"Namaste beta, Neonika this side.." I heard the caller speak from other side who was none other than my MIL

I instantly stood up from my seat, "Hel..Hello Namaste Aunty!" I replied stuttering

"Kaisi ho tum beta?" She asked

"Main thik hu aunty. Aap bataiye?" I replied

"Main thik hu. Acha beta kya ishitaji se tumhari baat hui?"

"Kis baare main aunty?"

'' Meri abhi abhi unse baat hui, roke ki shopping ke liye hum saath mein jaane ka soch rahe hai.."

"Acha koi baat nai aunty, meri shift khatam ho hi chuki hai, main ghar jaake mom ko pick karke phir aapko pickup karne aa jau?"

"Yeh toh bohot acha ho jayega beta, manu toh shopping ke naam pe laal-pela ho jata hai" she said chuckling

"Thik hai aunty, Namaste" I said chuckling along on MANU's antics

Manik's POV

"Hi Sweetheart!" I said picking up the call.

"Hi, actually can you come at manyavar showroom, please?"

"What happened? Everything alright?"

"Yea yea actually I, aunty and mom have came here for shopping and they have completed thier shopping but I'm unable to select anything. Can you please come here and help me out."

"Of course I'll be there in 20"

"And also we have to go to select our rings."

"Okay, I'm coming."

Nandini's POV

"Hayye Manu!! Kya ho gya tujhe achanak? Teri tabiyat to thik haina?"
Aunty said checking Manik's forehead
While I suppressed my laughter

"Areh woh mom I was going from here so I thought to see your shopping." He replied scratching his head

"Chal jhuttha, aise bolna tu apni hone wali biwi ki madat karne aya hai." Aunty said slapping his arm lightly

Manik blushed slightly while mom and aunty chuckled

"Nandini beta, jo main 25 saalo mein nai kar payi woh tune 2 din mein kardiya, rab terpe bohot bohot meher kare" aunty said caressing my hairs lightly.

Manik rolled his eyes and we continued to look for perfect outfit.

I and Manik selected the lavender evening gown for me and a lavender shervani for him.

Later mom and aunty went home while me and manik went to look for rings

"Nandini, I liked this ring very much for you." He said showing me a beautiful diamond ring.

"It is really nice, I loved it."

"Alright, shall we finalize it??"

"Yea, and manik I have a wish, I want MaNan to be carved on both our rings,

"MaNan?"

"Yes, its mixture of our names. Man of Manik and Nan of Nandini. It will always keep us both attached to each other."

"As you say my queen.." he said winking and I as usual blushed

We were on our way to my house because manik was going to drop me home.

I saw golgappa thela and I couldn't control my self.

"Manikkkk!!" I exclaimed

"What happened Nandini?"

"Manik! Woh golgappa!" I said nervously laughing

He chuckled and we went to have golgappa.

"Won't you have?" I asked

"Nope"

"Areh have one for me, wait"

Saying so I extended a golgappa till his lips, he looked at me and I insisted him to have it.

He had it from my hand and our eyes were locked for microsecond.

But As soon as manik had it, his eyes were tearing. I panicked and asked him what happened.

I extended a water bottle to him.
He gulped a good amout of water and he told me that he can't handle much spicy food.

I felt extremely guilty," I'm extremely sorry manik I didn't knew and you had to suffer beacuse of me, how can I be so unreaponsibl..."

"Shhhh! Nandini its okay" He said keeping a finger on my lips and calming me down.

I felt his finger on my lips which made a current jolt down my spine.

I quickly winded up my golgappa eating session and we headed towards my home.
