Alexandra and Paislee were hanging out at the boardwalk. The two were at Atlanta's Burger Shack eating a simple meal of burgers and fries. They had spent the first half of the morning shopping and were sitting down for lunch before planning on heading to the beach to spend the rest of the day. They had been talking about simple things for the majority of the conversation, trying to get to know each other a little better. They might as well if they would be spending the whole summer together. Suddenly, the conversation shifted from childhood pets—which Alexandra lacked anyways—to the house she moved into.
"So, who lived in the house before we did?" Alexandra asked, returning to their conversation from the last time they hung out.
"Oh my gosh," Paislee exclaimed between bites. "I almost forgot I had that conversation! I did speak with my nana, and she said that a man named Henry Wilson built and owned the place back in the 50s." Alexandra rolled her eyes.
"Seriously, that is the last family that lived here?"
"I asked the same thing, apparently there was some sort of crime scene, makes it hard to sell a place when people die there y'know?" Paislee grabbed at her fries. She was a slow eater compared to Alexandra, who finished her meal almost ten minutes ago.
"I didn't know people died here," Alexandra said, slightly shocked from the information she was provided. Paislee shrugged.
"I don't know what to tell ya girl. Also, they were a very weird family apparently. They would like, keep to themselves n' such. Henry, he owned a textile factory, it was very successful, so they spent a lot of time there or on vacay or whatever."
"That explains the size of the house in comparison to the others I guess."
"Yeah. To make matters weirder, he is the one accused of killing someone. Apparently one day, the whole family went poof! He was put on trial, but never convicted due to lack of ny' evidence. They even believed he had some sort of secret lover. They were never able to confirm whether he was guilty of it or not in court, so he walked away a free man."
"Creepy. He sounds guilty to me." Alexandra got up and grabbed hers and Paislee's plates, bringing them over to the trash. She motioned for Paislee to follow, and she quickly grabbed their stuff before meeting her at the door of the restaurant.
"Do ya think there is any way to get more info?" Paislee asked Alexandra, who raised an eyebrow at her.
"Really, until now you were the only one who knew anything. If anything, I should be asking you to get more information."
"True that." The conversation died out, and they started talking about other random things on their way to the beach.
