That was not something Alexandra expected to come across on a day like this. She looked up from the book, looking around her room for no reason in particular, except to process what she just read. What are the chances she finds this right after talking with Paislee about the topic? It seemed a little suspicious.
Trying not to think too much about what had happened, Alexandra put the book down on her desk before picking up the key that came with it. She thought about the possible places the key could go. There were many widows and a decent number of doors too, so it might take a while. She stood up and first decided to check her window and door. There was no luck. She sighed; this might take her a while.

Alexandra plopped down on her bed. The key did not go to a single window or door in the entire house, she checked twice at least, before coming to this conclusion. Her parents returned while she was investigating and asked her what she was up to. At first, she considered telling them what she found but ultimately decided against it. She did not want her parents attempting to put a stop to her investigation, so she thought it would be better to keep it to herself for the time being.
She went out into the hallway again, seeing if she could have possibly missed something. She looked around, and a hatch in the ceiling caught her eye. There was a small padlock on it, and from the looks of it there appeared to be an attic in the house. She did not know this existed, so it was very curious to her.
This was exciting for her. There was a chance her parents did not know about this, which meant she would be the first to explore the secret attic in her house. She pondered all of the possibilities for it. If it was a finished attic, she could turn it into a hideout for her and Paislee to hang out in, if it was unfinished then at least she got a chance to explore. Besides, a nice change of scenery in the house would be nice.
She knew she would never get away with exploring this if her parents were going up and down the stairs though, so she would need to wait until later when everyone was in bed to explore.
She also wanted to explore with Paislee. And although she could just ask to have a sleepover, she knew her parents would want to meet Paislee's first before she stayed the night. And anyway, it had only been three days, so her parents might question how well she knew Paislee to invite her over.
Good thing Alexandra has snuck out of the house enough to know her parents were heavy sleepers.
She went back to her room and grabbed her phone from the bed where she left it. She opened her chats with Paislee and messaged her about the plans for the night.
Alex: Listen, you need to come down to my place. Tonight, around midnight. Bring a flashlight. Don't let anyone know you will be here.
Paislee: What y? Did you find smthn cool
Alex: I might have, it could also be nothin. Jst trust me n meet me @ my front door ltr.
Paislee: Alr girl I trust u, sys
Now that the plans were set in motion, she looked down at the key and placed it in the dresser drawer in her bedroom. It would suck if her parents got ahold of it before they got a chance to explore. She also placed the journal next to it. She needed to remember to show Paislee that when she got here.
Her parents called her down for dinner, and she joined them, trying her best to contain a smile to not make her parents suspicious.
She was having a hard time with that, however, with how overjoyed she was.
A/N: I understand that this is part 8 and not part 7. Part 7 is going to be the journal entry that Alexandra read. I will MAYBE put it in here, I mean it does contain important information.
I just haven't written it yet... didn't feel like it. If I don't end up putting it in here, I will maybe add the important information below this chapter. The final version will have the journal entry!
