Walking into the great hall felt amazing. It felt like home, whatever home felt like. It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside and I just wanted to get rid of it. I did not want to be warm and fuzzy, I wanted to be fierce and cold. As the professor walked forward, so did the students. We stopped in the very front of the hall. We were between two tables in the front. I keep my posture to a point and keep my face blank. People were talking all around us until the first name was called.
"Hannah Abbot" A girl with ginger hair walked forward and sat on the stool. She looked nervous and most of the first year students did as well.
"You shall be in... HUFFLEPUFF" My eyes widened when I looked at the hat and heard it talk. I calmed myself down quickly.
'This is a magic school. What did I expect? It is a normal sorting ceremony. Of course not' I chuckled in my head slightly as I saw the girl walk to the table with the yellow.
"Season Bones' ' another girl walked up. Only difference was the hair color. She sat on the stool as well and after a moment the hat yelled out Hufflepuff. The sorting ceremony continued as it usually did. People being called up and then being sorted. Then going to sit down at their table. Eventually, it got to the letter 'P' the first Potter to be called up was my dumbass brother, Charles. He walked up there confidently with multiple people whisper-yelling about him. He looked even more confident than he did in the hall. The hat took a moment and then shouted
'you belong in... GRYFFINDOR' the red table started to cheer loudly as he walked over and sat down. Everyone was greeting him and trying to talk to him but I eventually turned away. Knowing what was going to happen next.

I sat down on the stool and the hat was placed on me and I immediately heard a voice.
"Hmm.. I haven't seen one like you in awhile.. Not since.. Never mind, you have a great mind. Ambition like no other. Smarts that could rival anyone... Hm.. Where to place you.. Gryffindor? No.. Much too loud.. They would never survive.. Hufflepuff? Oh, they would cry and the slightest glare you would give them. Ravenclaw, a possibility but the way they betray and rival each other would have you slitting all their throats open.. Hm.. I have made my choice.." The voice in my head stopped. I knew it was inside my head because everyone was anticipating what it was about to say.
"You belong in... SLYTHERIN!" no one cheered. Not even for a moment. The gryffindor table was in shock. I knew that no Potter was ever sorted in any other house except Gryffindor but I guess I'm that black sheep, as they would say. I stood gracefully and walked over to the green table. I sat down and after everyone got over their initial shock the sorting continued. Once everyone was sorted the headmaster gave a speech that I drank and bothered listening to. Probably some bullshit about the boy who lived. The food appeared and we dug in. Politely taking food and eating. That's when I heard stopping. Someone grabbed me by the shoulder and I turned around. I tilted my head in an elegant way and smiled my usual charming smile.
"May I help you?" They glared as the rest of the Slytheirn table quieted down and stared at the scene. In turn, every other table quieted down and also watched.
"Don't play the part of a fool, boy. You're a Potter, just like us, meaning, you shouldn't be with these.. Slytherin" the male Potter, which I assume is what my dad says. He at least minded his words.
"Hm.. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but if you really wanted me to play the part of the perfect little gryffindor son then wouldn't you have kept me and raised me yourself?" I say in a quiet and hushed tone. Making sure only we could hear it. His face turned red and so did my mothers.
"How dare you. Y-you.. You.. Snake. You damn, bloody snake." He sneered and pinched the back of my neck hard enough to leave a bruise. I didn't know when he moved his hand but apparently he did. I glare at him and smoothly assemble my mask again and smile and sweet smile. His face just turns a brighter red as he stomps off with his wife in tow. Draco looked at me and I looked at him. I smiled once more, a real, soft smile at him and he did the same. We had a small conversation about classes until our prefects, as I learned was the name of them, told us to follow them to the Dormitories. This was one hell of a day. This was truly a 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫.
