Daisy's VO: "Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of withering, of tarnishing.” A quote that Daisy has pondered for as long as she knew what love was. She remembered her first love, someone she believed she would have married, no matter who her imprint was, or even her soul bond.
Lincoln Campbell had taught Daisy all she knew about love, and in the end, he had died for it. For their love. Lincoln had once said that from the moment he had caught eyes with Daisy, that he had formed a soul bond.
A soul bond was something that inhumans have, they're a lot like a vampire's mate, or a wolf shifter's imprint.
The said thing was, Daisy did not create a soul bond with Lincoln, for an Inhuman could only have one.
They started dating three months after they had met, they lasted for a whole year before Lincoln sacrificed himself for Daisy. Cutting their love too short.
His remaining words for her was him admitting he was going to ask her to marry him. Later when she cleaned out his room, she had found the engagement ring he was going to propose with, she remembered crying for weeks after that.
And that was when she realized that whilst love can be amazing and beautiful, it could also be creepy and heartbreaking.
...
Meredith stared at Daisy's new form, completely and utterly surprised.
The wolf nodded its head as if to say, 'yed, I am your friend who just turned into a giant wolf before your very eyes.'
Meredith: How? How is this even possible?
The wolf tilted its head, grabbed the clothes on the ground and went behind a tree.
Meredith heard snapping sounds and winced.
That must be painful.
Suddenly Daisy was human again and walked over towards her with her hands in her pockets.
Daisy: It's a long story, you sure you want to hear it?
Meredith: Yeah, you just turned into a wolf! In front of my eyes. And not just any wolf... A giant wolf!
Daisy chuckled at Meredith's look of genuine wonder and curiosity in her eyes.
She wasn't afraid of her!
And isn't that just a freeing feeling.
Daisy showed someone with absolutely no previous ties to the supernatural, who she really was, and her person didn't freak out.
She had imagined every single bad scenario in which Meredith would run away screaming, or worse, tell someone else about her abilities and then she'd be locked up in some lab somewhere being dissected to see how her abilities worked.
Daisy: Well, I guess it's up to you, the short story, or the long story?
Meredith ponders it.
The short story would get straight to the point, but the long story would give details that could help her understand the supernatural better.
Meredith: The long story please.
Daisy: Well, we should go back to the house since it's a very long story. It's best to be comfortable listening to it.
The duo walked back to Daisy's home, walking into the living room, Meredith sat down on the couch, whilst Daisy walked into the kitchen.
Daisy: Want a beer?
