Our Tomorrow

Chapter 4

As the Crood family was trapped in the trap they heard rustling. "Do you guys hear that?" One Crood said as they all started to say something. "Something got over the wall. Don't get too close. Who knows what kind of weird beyond-the-wall creatures they are. Let's just jab at them from afar." A female voice and male voice talking to each other. As they jabbed at the Croods as the male said, "Wait a moment. Look past the matted pelts and gnashing teeth. The eyes, there's a kind of humanity in them." Grug then tried to say, "Ba-na-na." The male eyes widened as he said, "It's trying to communicate. Hope, these are people!" The male and female dropped the Croods as the lady said, "Cave people. I thought cave people died off years ago." The male and female looked at the Croods thinking that they didn't speak.

"We happy meet you. In hearts...much joy." The male said when the Croods looked confused and Grug said, "Thanks. Much joy to you too." Guy and Moon made sure that each other were safe as the male and female introduced themselves, "I'm Phil. And I am Hope. And we are...The Bettermans." Grug then said, ""Better man"?" Phil then spoke, "Betterman." Then Hope said, "Emphasis on the "better." Then Grug got up as Guy helped Moon up. "Well, we're the Croods. And this is..." Grug introduced his family when Phil and Hope exclaimed, "Guy?" Guy looked up in shock and said, "Mr. and Mrs. Betterman?" The Betterman's then exclaimed, "Guy!"

Moon smiled seeing Guy was with someone he knew. "Who are they Guy?" Guy looked at Moon and said, "I grew up with Hope and Phil. They were my parents' best friends until..." Phil then said, "We thought we lost your whole family. That was the moment we realized, in such a dangerous world. There had to be a better way to live." Moon walked beside Guy as they both saw a home in front of them. They both exclaimed, "Wha... Is that your home?" Phil and Hope seemed surprised that the girl beside Guy knew what a home was but smiled. As they walked up to the house Eep looked back at her sister and said, "Hey, Moon, race you to the top." Moon seemed sheepish as she said, "Eep, I don't think that this tree is for climbing." Hope smiled as she said, "She's right um little tiger girl." Eep seemed surprised and said, "Huh?"

"There's a "Betterman" way." Hope said as Phil continued, "Unofficial motto." Eep seemed surprised as Hope said, "Okay, everybody in? Yeah, the, um, death cat will have to stay outside." Moon nodded as she pushed Chunky back and said, "See ya, Chunky." Hope then continued what she said, "Sorry. Animals track in too much... um, dirt." Then Phil pulled a thing as he spoke, "Going up." Moon held on to Guy as they went up and Hope Betterman said, "Welcome to the Betterman home!" Moon looked in awe of the home as she whispered, "This seems like a home that we'd imagined." Guy nodded. Hope heard this and started to plan something.
