Chapter 6

As me and Kyle pulled up to pizza hut, I saw Niall sitting in the booth by himself. I felt a twinge of guilt maybe we should I have rode with him. I jumped out the car. “ you don’t look excited for this” Kyle says. I look at him “ I really don’t know what to think or feel” I respond. We walk to the door and Kyle opens the door for me. “ Wow thanks kyle I didn’t know you had being a gentleman in you” I say. Kyle sticks his foot out and I trip over it. “ I don’t” he says and laughs. “ I hate you with a passion”  I reply as I laugh. “Hey Niall” Kyle screams as I get up. “  Hi guys” he says as he looks at me. As we sit down I notice that there is already a pizza there. “ Uh what happened to waiting for us Niall” I say. “ I got hungry okay” he laughs “ But I will eat more”. “ I’m sure you will” I say. The entire dinner was actually fun and Niall didn’t mention the play. I honestly had realized how much I had missed talking to Niall even though we hadn’t been friends for very long. When Niall left to go the bathroom, kyle looked at his phone and by the expression on his face I knew something went wrong. “ What’s wrong” I say “I have to go. Can he drive you home”? he asked. “ Are you crazy!” I say. “ If my dad saw him he would kill me”.  Kyle looks at me sympathetically. “ I’m sorry but my mom just got a new job and she has to go in at odd times. She just left and my 10 year old sister is home by herself. I really don’t want camryn to have to wait much longer” He says. I remember how nice his little sister Camryn was. She had the prettiest curly hair, and she was just so nice and gentle. She wouldn’t hurt a fly. I could deal with my dad being mad for her. “ Okay, I’ll tell Niall where you went. Call me if you and camryn need anything” I say. “ Thanks so much Paige” He says as he dashes for the door. As he gets in his car, Niall walks up. “ Isn’t he your ride” he asks. “ Yeah but he had a family emergency. Could you drive me home” I ask Niall. He looks at me like I’m crazy “ uh sure” he responds. Niall pays for the the pizza and we walk out.

As we approach the car he goes on the passenger side and opens the door for me. When we get in the car I expected it to be awkward and at first it wasn’t.  Until Niall asked me if I thought my dad would consider him rejoining the basketball team. I told him I would mention it but I wasn’t sure what my dad would say. Niall said thanks but he didn’t mention it anymore and I was surprised. When we pulled up to my house, Niall ran around to my side and opened the door for me. “ Niall you don’t have to do that, this wasn’t like a date” I say. “ I know” he hesitates “ But I still haven’t given up on you” he winks before getting in the car and speeding off. After he leaves I notice how fast my heart was beating and that’s when I realized Niall liked me.

And as for me. I liked him too.
