Hi readers. I know this isn't the opening anyone wanted, but after an eternity I'm here to deliver a lacklusterly executed ending to this two part saga that I led for 6 years.
6 is a long number.
Anyway, before launching into this bullet point-esque informational wrap up, I wanna sincerely apologize once again to those who waited. I'm sorry to those of you who encouraged me to continue despite my uncertainties. I'm sorry to new readers who will eventually arrive to this "chapter" and undoubtedly feel annoyance and maybe even anger. I've been that reader before and when seeing farewell notes like this I was heated lol.
Really, I tried all I could to pick up Gemini's torch again but I think it's time to admit for the last final time that I can't. Not only that..I don't really want to. A little more on that later in the after credits if you care.
So what became of the Nelsons? Let's start from where we left off.
________
1. In the immediate aftermath of Miles drowning school bully Sean, Brie confessed to Jody her knowledge of all things Miles and Gemini, to which Jody revealed the truth about Prince's affliction.
"Does daddy have a twin?"
Jody knew it would come eventually, but she's a tad taken by the suddenness of it being now. "You mean Gemini," she states while clearing her tears.
"When I saw him on the video, I knew it wasn't daddy. Miles called me dumb for it because he couldn't see the difference. But there's no way—"
"He's sick."
"Huh?"
"There is no twin—not physically anyway."
"But...then who's Gemini?"
"The reason why he's sick. Your father has a split personality which means there's another part of him that he has no control over. He calls himself Gemini."
...
"Then what about me? What about Miles?"
The emotion surfaces: a drop in her features. "What about Miles?"
"Because if Gemini is what made daddy a murderer then— " Remembering the promise made to her brother, Brie's anxious blabbering comes to a dead halt as she stares widely at her mother.
"What?"
The tiniest head shake.
Jody's stern, "Brie Alexandra, you better tell me everything."
Here at center kitchen, a wild west stare-off slugs on for a full minute before the teen cracks.
"He sees Gemini like I did, but worse," she speeds out semi nervously. "The headaches he keeps getting is because of him. He hears voices too. And at the party, when me and Sean were arguing and Miles came to break it up, I saw this look on his face that I'll never forget. I know for sure it was Gemini."
Connecting all the red strings, Jody mourns her sons damned fate. In place of responding, she walks away, knowing nothing else to do but move.
Hands through her hair, after some time she converses to self. "I don't anymore," she admits, her voice a depleted whisper. "I don't have anymore distractions. I can't think of anything else. Prince could walk in that door right now and what would I say?"
2. Prince had other things to worry about though. Just the day before, he and Ruth were stuck in L.A., caught in a tumultuous rainstorm of water and bullets.
