Chapter 2: Spring of Rebirth

'Something's strange. Eun Ji Yeon isn't one to let go of me so easily.'
After getting in the car, Min Woo sat quietly for a moment with a nervous expression.

Eun Ji Yeon, who had infinite affection for him and acted obsessively, would cling and pester no matter how he behaved.

But when she, who was like that, presented the divorce papers first, he couldn't easily believe it beyond surprise.

However, he quickly shook his head from side to side, hurriedly erased the thought, and started the car.

Why was he worried when she was willingly giving him a divorce? He should be happy.

After he started the car and called Se Ah, she answered the phone as if she had been waiting.

– "Min Woo, where are you? Did you finish talking with that woman?"
Since Se Ah also knew that Min Woo was going to meet Ji Yeon today to talk about divorce, she couldn't help but ask.

"Ah, I just signed the divorce papers and left. I'm on my way home now."

Se Ah's voice, sweeter than ever before, flowed from the phone, tickling Min Woo's ear.

After parting with Min Woo, Ji Yeon wandered around a nearby park for a while with a hollow heart, then sat on a conspicuous bench and blankly looked around.

His expression, as though he was tired when asked to meet once a month, the contempt in his eyes, the smile that seemed relieved as he signed the divorce papers.

When she thought that the only emotions he had felt for her were hatred and disdain, the pain was like a blade slashing sharply across her heart.

She knew it too.

Her affection for him was still great, and the reason she had asked to meet him once a month on various excuses, was a product of her lingering affection.

'Little by little, during the remaining six months, I just need to erase Cha Min Woo from my heart. That's all I have to do.'
Ji Yeon shook her head fiercely, as if to erase her complicated thoughts, and then stood up from her seat as if she had made a decision.

She had to do something, or her heart would only grow more depressed if she stayed still.

[We might make mom and dad think it's strange if we come separately, so let's meet in front of the house and go in together. They said to come by 7, so it would be good to meet 10 minutes before. I'll be waiting in front of the house.]
Due to the sudden call from her stepfather, Chairman Cha Seung Jo, she unexpectedly saw him again after a few days.

Ji Yeon, who arrived on time, sat on a bench in the park a little away from the house, left a location message while waiting for Min Woo, and blankly stared at her surroundings.

The wind brought the smell of trees and flowers, making her feel good. As she was smiling happily, she saw Cha Min Woo entering the park, and Ji Yeon raised her hand.

When Ji Yeon stood up from the bench and walked towards him, Min Woo stared at her as she approached, seeming surprised and stopping in his tracks.

"Eun Ji Yeon! Your hair......"
The Ji Yeon he was seeing now was something Min Woo had never seen before.

After marriage, her jet- black long hair, which was always neatly tied without a single strand out of place, had transformed into a beautiful light brown wave that flowed down her back.
