"Department Head?"

Standing in front of her was Kang Hyun, who just a moment ago had been panting heavily as he ran on the treadmill.

"What brings you here?"
"I was about to ask you the same, I moved in here today."
"Oh, you're the one who moved into the 3rd floor today. I live on the 4th floor."
"You live on the 4th floor, Department Head?"
"It seems we're neighbors. What an extraordinary coincidence?"
"Ah, yes....... It is, what a coincidence."
Ji Yeon gave an awkward laugh, then quickly closed her mouth.

As she looked around, not knowing where to put her eyes in front of her shirtless boss showing off his muscular physique, he seemed startled and quickly put his t- shirt back on, wiping his sweat with a towel nearby.

"I'm sorry. I didn't think about it because the floor below has been vacant."
"It's okay."
At his words, Ji Yeon laughed awkwardly again, and soon silence flowed between them.

"I guess I'll go now, Department Head. Please continue your workout. I just came to look around, so I need to explore the neighborhood a bit. I still don't know what's around here."
In the midst of the awkward silence, Ji Yeon fiddled with her hands, unable to meet his eyes.

"I've finished exercising. Have you finished unpacking?"
Why does he keep asking, just continue your workout.......

"Not yet. All the furniture hasn't arrived yet, so it will probably take another week or two to get everything organized."
"I see. Your fridge must be empty, too. If you don't mind, Ji Yeon, why don't we have dinner together in the neighborhood? As we discussed, you probably don't know the area well."
"Dinner together with the Department Head?"
Caught off guard, Ji Yeon parroted Kang Hyun's words like a parrot.

"Do you have company? I hadn't considered that, my apologies."

"No, I'm alone....... But you must be busy, Department Head, it's okay."
"I'm not busy at all. Of course, if it makes you uncomfortable, Ji Yeon, you can refuse."
The truth was, the idea of having dinner alone with her not- so- close boss was indeed daunting.

However, as he was her superior and had suggested it out of consideration for her, it was hard for her to easily refuse.

"It is a bit burdensome, given that you've suggested it out of consideration. Alright, then how about around 6 o'clock?"
"Sounds good. Let's meet at the cafeteria on the 1st floor at 6. We'll go somewhere within walking distance, so dress casually."
With that, he left the gym first.

"Neighbors with the Department Head, and we even live directly above and below each other. What kind of fate is this?"
Fate, or misfortune.

As she waited on the 1st floor at 6, Kang Hyun appeared, carrying a refreshing scent.

He was dressed in casual sportswear that could be seen anywhere, but it looked different on him.

'He's like a walking photoshoot.'
She found herself admiring Kang Hyun's appearance without realizing it.

"Do you like fusion cuisine?"
"Ah! Yes, I love it."
The two left the building and strolled down a beautifully landscaped tree- lined street.

The sun had just begun to set, and they walked against the glow of the setting sun. The smell of trees, grass, and flowers mixed in the wind and wafted delightfully.

"Have you lived here long, Department Head?"
"I've lived here since before I went to the US, over 3 years now I think. It was vacant while I was in the US, though."
"The villa complex and your home are both so beautiful."
"Do you like it?"
"Yes, I like it very much. Especially as this is my first time living alone, I'm really looking forward to it."
