"Why did you give up on the work you loved so much?"
At Min Woo's question, Ji Yeon looked at him as if it was absurd, then unwittingly burst out laughing.

Seeing her laughter, Min Woo frowned.

"What's so funny?"
"Do you really not know, or are you pretending not to know?"
"Why would I ask if I knew?"
Cha Min Woo looked at Ji Yeon with a face of pure ignorance, as if he had truly forgotten the words he had once spoken.

Ji Yeon was incredulous at his attitude.

The words 'it's because of you and your mother' rose to her throat, then receded.

Seeing him like this, she suddenly remembered Kang Ju Ran, who had shown up at her office out of the blue a few days before their wedding.

The woman had appeared at her office without any prior arrangement and boldly told Ji Yeon to have a baby as soon as they were married.

And she told Ji Yeon to quickly quit her job and pay more attention to being Cha Min Woo's wife.

With Ju Ran's incessant nagging and the gap between her and Min Woo that didn't narrow, Ji Yeon raised the white flag and quit her job within a year of marriage.

"Do you really need to know why now? Just stay ignorant like you did before when you didn't care."
Ji Yeon turned her head towards the window with a stern expression and said.

An awkward silence filled the car again until they arrived home.

"I'll check through Secretary Choi about your joining the company, so be aware."
"Mr. Min Woo."
"Just listen to me."
Ji Yeon could only make an incredulous face at Min Woo's attitude, as if he still had something going on.

"I don't think this is right. Why should I go there? We won't be seeing each other in a few months."

"You know my father's temperament. He's the type to carry on once he's decided something. You know that better than anyone. He would never tolerate you working in another company. You want to announce the divorce six months later, right? You said you're preparing this and that in the meantime. If you don't want to make a fuss, just come out. We can worry about the future later."
"But......"
"It's just the same work in a different place. What's the problem? Don't cause unnecessary trouble, just quietly come out. I don't mind if you join our company, it doesn't bother me. But if you're really uncomfortable, you can quit after we get divorced in six months."
'To you, it might mean nothing, but for me, it's a significant matter as I'm making a new start.'
Min Woo made light of Ji Yeon's employment, as if it was nothing important. Although her temper flared at his attitude, Ji Yeon, knowing the temperament of Chairman Cha as she did, held her tongue.

If she didn't agree to this, sharp- eyed Chairman Cha would definitely notice something was wrong, and word could get to Ji Yeon's home.

It wasn't time yet. Even soothing her own feelings was difficult right now.

And the true feelings buried deep in her heart resurfaced, troubling Ji Yeon's mind.

The team she had always wanted to join.

If she refused and broke up with Min Woo, there would be no chance ever.

It was just a moment. A moment before breaking up with him.

Ji Yeon's vacillating heart had slowly leaned to one side.

Rrrr Rrrr-

At that time, Se Ah had been continuously calling Min Woo.

"Mr. Min Woo, why are you making people so anxious?"
But no matter how many times she redialed, Min Woo did not answer the call, and only the ringtone could be heard.
