“ARE YE READY YET?” Barry yelled. I straightened my tie and ran my hands through my hair.

“What-But I thought we were going right now?!” I dashed out of the bathroom to see my bandmates floating about, all half naked. I was the only one ready. Unbelievable!

“No, I just needed to use the bathroom, pretty boy,” Barry chuckled and I punched him playfully.

“Whatever. Saying as yous aren’t ready, I’m going to find the others to see they’re almost ready.”

I stepped out into the hallway to hear shouting and squabbling in the next room. The door was wide open and Ursula stood with her arms crossed, unamused.

Holy shit.

She looked incredible.

Her dark, wavy locks were tied loosely into a braid and she wore a full length green dress. It was truly beautiful.

I stood gaping at her for a few moments and when she realised, she laughed and walked towards me.

“Well don’t you look smart, McTrusty,” she jeered and poked me in the ribs. Her laugh made my heart melt and I let out a small groan.

“You okay?” She asked, slightly bemused.

“Yeah,” I shook my head into a smile. “You look stunning, Ursula.”

I saw her cheeks rouge despite her tan complexion and I kissed her cheek, causing her to blush even more.

“Come on,” she said taking my hand. “Let’s wait downstairs. I’m sick of listening to them two arguing.”

She pulled me to the elevator and we got inside.

“What are they arguing about?” I asked, hitting the button for the ground floor.

“A tie. A bleedin’ tie.” She rolled her eyes and I smirked.

All of a sudden, the lights in the elevator started to flicker. There were strange noises coming from above. And then, we stopped. On the 11th floor.

“What the...?” We both mumbled and tried to figure out what had happened.

“Shit. We’re stuck,” she exclaimed, “please tell me you have your phone?”

I searched every one of my pockets. No luck.

“No... I left it in the room.”

“Me too,” she said frustrated. “Dammit! I can’t stay here, I hate small spaces,” she breathed heavily.

“Hey, hey it’s okay. It’s fine. We’ll get out soon,” I said calmly.

The emergency button. How could I forget?

I pressed it and it began ringing.

“Reception, how can I help you?” an American woman spoke.

“Em, we’re in the elevator. It’s stuck on the 11th floor and we can’t get out. Can you help?”

“I’ll get right on it, it may take a short while though.”

“How long?”

“Maybe about 30 minutes...”

“What?!” Ursula groaned in the background and I shushed her so I could hear the woman on the phone.

“Look, we’ll try and fix this problem as soon as possible, sir. Just please be patient.”

I agreed and hung up. Ursula and I pressed our backs to the wall and slid onto the ground.

“It’s too warm in here,” she whispered and I nodded. I put an arm around her shoulder and she leant into me, closing her eyes and taking in a sharp breath.

We sat in silence for a few minutes before Ursula smirked beside me.

“What’s so funny?” I asked her.

“Nothing,” she shook her head, but she was still amused.

“Tell me,” I gave her a gentle shove and she shot me a look.

“Okay, fine. It’s just like... It’s like a typical movie, isn’t it? Like one of those rom-coms? Boy, girl, locked in elevator. Ye know?” She shrugged. She didn’t look at me, but she smiled. I smiled too.

“I guess it is,” I traced her soft skin with my fingers. Her cheek, her jaw, her neck. I felt her skin burn under my cool hands.

“You’re such a tease,” she covered her face with her hands bashfully, but I pulled them away.

“Only because you tease me,” her jaw dropped in disbelief.

“I do not tease you! I never tease you!” She exclaimed.

“But you do! You just don’t realise it. Every time you give me that look or you bite your lip or kiss my cheek or curl up beside me on a sofa or fall asleep beside me...” I trailed off timidly. She smiled at me. A genuine, warm, Ursula smile.

I don’t regret what I said. I wanted her to know how I felt.

“Well, I never meant to tease you,” she shrugged.

We stared at each other for several moments. I wanted to tell her how I felt. Right now. I know it isn’t the most romantic of places, but the moment was perfect.

Key word being was.

I opened my mouth to speak, but before I could, I heard some banging coming from above and within seconds, the elevator started moving again.

Seriously? That wasn’t 30 minutes.

“Oh thank goodness!” Ursula stood up and sighed. She stuck her arms out and she pulled me up from the ground and dusted me off. I smiled appreciatively and half heartedly, knowing my moment had been ruined.

We reached the ground floor and saw a swarm of our friends all waiting for us. Before we could talk to them, we were given an apology from the staff and two bottles of free champagne were sent up to each of our rooms to make up for the mishap.

We went over to the guys and got asked about 20,000,000 times if we were okay and after reassuring them all several times, we made our way to the venue.
