In ancient times, a tale was told,
Of Orpheus and his love so bold.
Eurydice, fair as the morning dew,
Their love a flame that brightly grew.

Orpheus, with his lyre's sweet song,
Charming nature's creatures yearlong.
But fate's cruel twist tore them apart,
As Eurydice was stolen by death's dark art.

Grief-stricken, her husband dated to descend,
To the underworld, where danger impend.
With his music he sought to sway,
Hades, ruler of the realm of dismay.

Moved by his sorrow, Hades relents,
Granting Orpheus a chance, though with intents.
He need only trust, to lead Eurydice back to life,
On one condition, not to look back at his wife.

But temptation proved too strong,
As Orpheus journeyed, his heart a song.
While he made his way to the world above,
He glanced behind, losing his love.

Eurydice faded like a wisp of smoke,
Leaving Orpheus in despair, his heart truly broke.
Beautiful music silenced and his spirit torn,
Forever haunted by the love he'd mourn.
