I looked at him as a friend,
until the day I realised I loved him,
and the lines between us began to blend,
guilt swirling in my stomach as we sang our hymns.I'm scared as hell to want you,
but here I am wanting you anyway.
Your pretty eyes that had not a clue,
my thumping heart in underplay.Our Lord would cast me aside,
if only he knew what thoughts swam in my head,
when we went down to the riverside,
or how I want you in my bed.Is it truly a sin to love you so,
when you look at me with your heart aglow?
Why must I be so full of woe,
hiding away from you in the shadows.
