Be fine without you

Surprisingly, no one informed me that there's a private event happening in my tower, which is rented by the Montecarlos. Arik and Hannah, along with Hannah's biological parents and other friends, are in a different hall, far from where we are, but we can clearly see them from where we are situated.

This makes me want to ask them to leave, especially because Ariah might see them, especially her father.

"Nobody told me, Mom. I thought this entire floor was closed because I informed the staff early. Bakit walang nagsabi sa akin na pupunta sila ngayon dito?" I asked my mom in annoyance.

I immediately called her the moment I saw the Montercarlos, especially the irritating face of Hannah.

I don't want Ariah to see him with another woman and ask about it. I can't lie to her! And I don't want to hurt her by telling the truth!

"I just got the notice, Celeste. They will be there until afternoon for a celebration."

"Can't we ask them to leave? I don't want them here. Ariah is here, mommy. I can't afford to see her father with that woman."

I kept my gaze on Ariah. I discreetly looked in the direction where Arik was and saw Hannah smirking at me. Arik is watching us too from afar.

What the heck is he trying to do? Trying to catch my daughter's attention? Is he doing this on purpose?

"Ariah, baby..."

I shifted my gaze back to my daughter. I sighed when I saw how Rusty was cradling my daughter in his big arms, comforting and playing with her.

"I heard there's a beautiful and big fountain here in your mom's tower. Do you want to go see it with Uncle Rusty?" He asked my daughter gently as he wrapped her in a towel.

My heart just melted.

"Really? Mommy told me I'm not allowed there. Can we go there for real?" Ariah asked in surprise.

When I nodded, he looked at me again before turning his attention back to Ariah.

"I'll take care of mommy. Shall we go?"

Ariah cheered. I smiled and sighed.

"Mom, this is my tower, my property. As long as I'm here, I don't want other people here. They can just go to another hotel to celebrate their endeavors, the hell I care. Paaalisin ko sila," I firmly told my mom.

"Do what you want, mija. I also instructed the staff to give them an emergency memo."

"God. These people. Thank you, mom."

"Where's Ariah by the way?" Mommy asked.

"She's with Rusty right now. I have to go."

"Alright. Buti na lang ay nandyan si Rusty, huh?" she said meaningfully. I could already envision her smile.

"Stop, mom. Love you. Bye."

Right after I ended the call, I returned the stare Hannah was giving me. I saw the two staff members approaching the Montecarlos, and then I noticed their disappointed looks, so I quickly approached them.
