["IF YOU'RE BLUE AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO TO...."]

<--------->

The eyebags underneath your eyes weren't exactly the most flattering of your features. You were wearing some baggy denim pants and a black tank top. Your hair looked like it went through both world wars and a special edition third one.

You seriously couldn't be bothered to dress even a little nicer. The only thing nice about your outfit was the black and heavily saturated yellow leather jacket that was keeping you warm.

     That's just school for ya.

Not to mention that you had another quiz today. And what may it be in you may be asking?

     Math.

God, you wanted to claw your eyes out just at the thought. You groaned and put your headphones on as you waited at the bus stop. Your phone light nearly blinded you, as it was currently dark outside.

You sometimes wondered which genius made it a good idea for school to start at six in the freaking morning. Either that or you just cursed them because you lived somewhat far away from the stupid school.

Amazing what some people will do just to stay with their friends. Or sometimes, their only friends. Which was your case.

You threw a piece of gum into your mouth and chewed it. The pink gum popping when you made it. It was strawberry flavored. Something that you loved dearly.

"Mama! Mama!" Childish giggling could be heard from across the street. A faint smile tugged at your lips as you saw a child running forward. The presumed mother was walking behind the child walking with a stroller.

It was always so endearing seeing the innocence that children had.

The innocence that was soon to be shattered when they're forced into public schooling. If they're lucky, they'll have a couple years of innocence. But that's only delaying the inevitable.

You went back to scrolling through your phone, paying no mind to the child that was waiting for their mother as she was walking slower than normal.

When the mother had eventually caught up to the child. The child giggled and ran into the the street. You saw this through the corner of your eye and heard the loud honk of the bus you were currently waiting for.

At that, time seemingly froze. You had no idea what came over you, but you charged at the child and pushed it out of the way of the certain death that it was about to face.

But you only took the child's place.

The last thing you heard was a loud honk, brakes screeching, and the screaming of both the child and the mother.

       Then everything went black.

<--------->

Your heart pounded as you shot up. You felt like you were going to be sick. Your head was spinning and you trembled in bed.

     Wait, bed?

     Where were you?

So, decided to take a look at your surroundings. You looked to be in a sort of hospital room. It looked old. Almost like you were in the nineteen fifties. You rose an eyebrow and slowly placed your feet on the ground. Making it so that you were sitting on the bed.

The clothes you were wearing were white, and not to mention extremely itchy! They were already getting on your nerves. Hadn't even been five minutes.

Suddenly the door opened and a couple of worried nurses rushed in, "...Oh my." It was clear that they hadn't expected you to be up already.

"Um...salutations?" You offered them an awkward smile and waved at them. One literally fainted. The other two just stared until one got the courage to walk over to you.

"How is it possible, Marie?" One of them whispered.

Your eyes narrowed, "You do know that I'm right here, right? I can hear you."

The nurse flinched a little, "Oh, my apologies miss...Well um...forgive us for acting the way we did. But if we may, you had flatlined and we didn't think that you'd make it."

That got you intrigued, "I...flatlined?" You asked confused.

      The nurse nodded.

"Actually, where the hell am I, and how did I get here?" You looked around. You knew for certain that hospitals didn't look like they were from the twentieth century anymore.

"Such profanity. Unfitting for such a young lady." One of the three remaining and conscious nurses mumbled under their breath.

You glared at them and flipped her off. She gasped in offense, "how rude!" Before stumbling out of the hospital room.

With a roll of the eyes, you looked over to the only remaining nurse. "Well, I feel fine. Can I be discharged, please?"

The nurse hesitated. "W-Well...You'll have to excuse me. I'm going to have a word with my supervisor, dearie."

You nodded and leaned back into the bed, truth be told, you were freaking out. Though it may not seem like it to people on the outside.

Your heart was pounding inside of your chest and you ran a hand through your hair. You glanced at the beside table and chair that was for some reason, also antique. Your headphones, phone, and jacket were there. Alongside your clothes that you wore before...

     Before...

Actually, you couldn't remember. But a shot of pain surged through you when you even thought of it, so you decided that it would be a good idea to not think it.

A couple more minutes had passed before the female nurse and the male doctor came back. The male doctor looked puzzled and confused.

"Hm, so you really weren't lying, Agatha." He inspected you a healthy ways away from you.

You bit the inside of your cheek and you suddenly sat upright and crossed your legs. The doctor's eyes widened.

"Wa-!" It seems that he had expected you to cry out in pain or something. But you didn't. So he faltered. "Um...aren't you in pain, my dear?" He asked taking a couple steps closer to you.

"Two things, one, personal space please." You shooed him a little further away from you. " And two, no I am not. I feel fine. Like I could run a marathon, though I won't." You held your head up via your hand on your chin.

      "And why is that?"

     "Because I'm lazy." You grinned.

The doctor and the nurse glanced at each other before the doctor wrote something on his clipboard.

     'PATIENT DISCHARGED.'
