10; "It's my fault"

"We lost him," Yoongi announces, standing just a few steps away from campus.

A panting Jimin stops to catch his breath, having no idea why they are running in the first place.

"Do you think he's okay?" Jimin asks, getting a little anxious each second. "What do you think happened?"

"I... I'm sure he's okay." Yoongi says, not at all sure. He couldn't forget Jungkook's face when he rushed out the school; he looked genuinely terrified. "I'll call him,"

He attempts to call the younger a few times, but to no avail. His call goes directly to voice-mail. "You should try calling Taehyung. Maybe he knows what happened." Yoongi suggests, still trying to call his roommate.

Jimin nods and picks up his phone. Before he gets to tap on Taehyung's contact, his phone rings. Yoongi snapped his head in Jimin's direction, hoping that it's Jungkook who's calling.

"Huh? It's the hall director," Jimin wonders why the residence director would call him. As far as he remembers, he didn't do anything illegal at the dorms.

Nonetheless, he answers. Yoongi signals to him to turn on the speaker, so that's what he does.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Jimin. How's Taehyung doing now?"

"I don't... I headed to campus before waking him up. What do you mean?" Jimin's face morphs into confusion. He left Taehyung sleeping peacefully this morning. He thought Taehyung would just wake up in time for the first period.

Maybe the dorm director knows about Taehyung's condition?

"Oh, I thought he told you,"

Jimin frowns. "Told me? Told me what?"

"Taehyung's in the hospital,"

"Guys, calm down. He's going to be okay." Yoongi tells the two anxious boys who are currently pacing back and forth in front of Taehyung's hospital room.

"I can't believe you, Jungkook. You ran out of school without telling me!" Jimin scolds, Jungkook barely holding back his tears.

The youngest can't form a proper word at the moment, so he ignores Jimin's statement.

They've known about Taehyung's condition for a while now, but they never thought it would get this serious.

"Is anyone gonna explain why he's in here?" Yoongi asks.

"What the fuck are you even doing here?! You barely know any of us!" Jimin yells in frustration. Yoongi knows Jimin's just worried about Taehyung, so he doesn't take offense in that. In fact, he's here for Jungkook. Being roommates with someone makes you automatically close with them.

Just when they're about to lose their minds, a doctor steps out of Taehyung's room, ready to be bombarded with questions.

"What happened?" Jungkook immediately asks.

"I suppose you already know about the patient's condition?" The doctor asks.

Jimin and Jungkook nod slowly.

"Well, there's nothing major happening right now. He passed out due to malnutrition and was brought to me at nine. I believe he has been eating food that he should be avoiding. Is that correct?"

Jimin pressed his lips into a thin line. At the very beginning, when Taehyung got diagnosed, him and Jungkook made sure he avoided all types of food that could cause his condition to worsen. But they haven't been that cautious lately, as Taehyung already knows what to avoid.

They would ask Taehyung if he had eaten meat, anything high in fiber, and similar food, but Taehyung would always say no.

They never thought he could be lying.

"I... we're not sure." Jungkook answers.

"That's the only reason his condition would worsen since he takes his medication regularly. You should keep an eye on what he consumes if he doesn't want to get treated."

"We understand. Can we see him right now?" Jimin wastes no time in asking.

"Yes. He is awake. But I advise you to find him a good nutritionist. He can help him with his diet. Obviously, the best option here is to get treated, but he told me he doesn't want to get treated. If you can convince him to go through treatment, that would be great."

"Okay, will do. Do you think he can leave now?

"He sure can. But I suggest visiting a doctor specializing in his condition two times a week for check up."

"Noted. Thank you!" Jungkook offers a grateful smile before rushing into the room with the other two.

Taehyung smiles weakly upon seeing Jungkook and Jimin burst into the room. And Yoongi?

"Oh my god, you had us worried you bitch!" Jungkook punches Taehyung's shoulder softly making the latter giggle a little.

"My bad. I didn't mean to. I just called you because they told me I need someone to take me home." Taehyung directs at Jungkook.

"So if it weren't for that, you wouldn't have called?"

"I mean, I didn't want you to worry." Taehyung shrugs with a smile.

Yoongi stands awkwardly near the door as the three exchange a few more words. He finds it fascinating how, despite Taehyung's condition, he's still smiling and making sure to be positive. Yes, he doesn't really know what Taehyung's condition is, but it can't be that bad since none of the three is frantic.

"It's my fault. I should have woken you up this morning. Maybe then this wouldn't have happened." Jimin says, a tear escaping his eye.

"Don't be. I would have fainted anyway, so don't worry." Taehyung laughs.

"You haven't been watching what you eat, right?" Jungkook interrupts, making Taehyung's face drop.

"I forgot,"

"Taehyung, you lied to us. You said you've been getting better, but you haven't. Look at you, you lost so much weight." Jungkook points out, making Jimin and Yoongi look at Taehyung closely.

How did Jimin not notice before? He feels like a horrible friend.

Taehyung looks away from the three. His head down. "I..."

"You just don't want to get better, and I don't know why! Why are you doing this to yourself? Why are you doing this to us??" Jungkook cries, pointing his finger at Taehyung accusingly.

Taehyung knows he deserves this. He deserves his friends to be angry at him. He feels so selfish for not wanting to get better for them. They needed him, and he failed them again.

The room goes silent for a few moments. Only Jimin's soft sobs can be heard.

"You're going to a dietitian starting from tomorrow. And you have no say in this!" Jungkook adds before storming off, leaving Yoongi and Jimin alone with Taehyung.
