The next day, as the sun gently illuminated the room, Ash stood in the soft morning light, lost in a moment of quiet reflection as he gazed at his mother's photograph. A warm smile tugged at his lips as he traced the outline of her face, feeling a surge of happiness welling up inside him.

Unbeknownst to Ash, Gary stood at the doorway, watching his friend with quiet admiration. He couldn't help but feel a swell of warmth in his chest at the sight of Ash's contented expression.
After a moment, Gary softly cleared his throat, breaking the silence. "Hey, Ash," he said, his voice gentle and warm.
Ash turned to see Gary standing there, a soft smile on his face. "Hey, Gary," he replied, returning the smile.
For a brief moment, the two friends simply stood there, sharing a silent understanding. Gary knew that Ash needed this time alone, and he respected that, allowing him to bask in the quiet tranquility of the morning.
"Breakfast is ready" Gary said very softly.
With a nod and a reassuring smile, Gary quietly left the room, leaving Ash to his thoughts. As he made his way downstairs, he couldn't help but feel grateful for moments like these – moments of peace and reflection that reminded him of the bonds of friendship that tied them together.

He kept the photo on his desk. As Ash descended the stairs, the comforting aroma of breakfast greeted him, drawing him into the kitchen where Gary and Leaf were already seated at the table.
"Morning, Ash," Leaf greeted with a smile, her eyes bright with warmth.
"Hey, Leaf," Ash replied cheerfully, returning her smile as he took a seat beside her. "Morning, Gary," he added, nodding at his friend.
"Morning, Ash. Sleep well?" Gary asked, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
"Yeah, like a log," Ash replied with a chuckle, reaching for a plate of pancakes that Leaf had prepared.
As they ate, the conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and camaraderie. Leaf couldn't help but steal glances at Ash, her heart fluttering at the sight of him. She had always admired his strength and determination, but there was something about the way he smiled that made her heart skip a beat.
Meanwhile, Ash was completely oblivious to Leaf's silent admiration, his attention focused on devouring his breakfast with gusto. He was grateful for moments like these – simple, ordinary moments spent with friends who felt like family.
After breakfast, Leaf lingered behind, pretending to clean up while stealing glances at Ash. Finally, she mustered up the courage to speak. "Hey, Ash, do you maybe want to hang out later? Just the two of us?" she asked, her voice slightly hesitant.
Ash looked up from his plate, surprised by the invitation. "Sure, Leaf! That sounds great," he replied, a bright smile spreading across his face.
Leaf's heart skipped a beat at his enthusiastic response, her cheeks flushing with excitement. "Awesome! I'll see you then," she said, unable to contain her joy as she hurried off to make plans.
