Each others Support system

The test

Tim was working on metro. He frequently texted Lucy to make sure she is okay. He still was worried after that stomach bug she had a few days later.
T-hey you good?
L- yea I'm great. Can we meet at your office end of shift?
T- of course honey is something wrong?
L- no but I have to tell you something.
T- okay see you than, be safe while you are still on patrol.
L- yes will do.

Tim was a bit worried about the text he got from Lucy. He went to talk to Nolan about it. Cause he knows Lucy longer than Tim has.
T- hey John can I ask you something?
J- hey Tim sure.
T- I'm a bit worried about Lucy. She just send me a text that she wanted to talk to me after shift. You know her longer than I do. Do you think she will break up with me?
J- wow uhm I don't think so. She is so in love with you. And you are just engaged. When Lucy and I broke up she had to think about it for weeks.
T- okay so you don't thi- wait what. When you and Lucy broke up. You had a relationship with Lucy?
J- uhm I said to much. But it wasn't really that serious.
T- okay now I really have to talk to Lucy.

Time went slow for Tim. He had to do paperwork till the end of shift. But he was still anxious about his talk with Lucy. And he was still confused about what John had said.
L- hey Tim, am I interrupting?
T- no come inside. What did you wanna talk about?
L- uhm so you know we are dating for more than a year now. And that we are just engaged-
T- do you regret it? Did you change your mind. Do you wanna break up?
L- what no silly, of course not I love you.
T- okay good because I got a little scared. Because Nolan had said-
L- what you talked to Nolan about me?
T- yes about that why didn't you tell me about you and Nolan?
L- you mean that I had an relationship with him for the first few months as a rookie?
T- yea it hadn't come up in all the time we've been together.
L- well that is because it wasn't that serious. And bishop caught us and she opened my eyes that it wasn't that smart.
T- wait bishop knew.
L- yes, but it doesn't matter anymore. It is history,
T- I get that but I would like to know if you had a romantic relationship with any other colleague of ours.
L- okay I get that but Nolan was the only one. But can we change the subject back to what I wanted to talk about?
T- yes sorry what did you want to talk about?
L- so as I said we've been dating a while. But do you think you are ready to start a family?
T- of course honey, I thought I was clear about starting a family since our second date. When you talked about our grandkids.
L- I know but I had to make sure you were okay with it before I tell you that I'm pregnant.
T- wait really? Lucy Chen are you pregnant with my child.
L- no it is Nolan's child (she joked)
T- oh please shut up. So we are gonna have a baby?
L- yes Timothy we are gonna have a baby.
T- when did you find out?
L- earlier today. I was with Angela when I found out. It hadn't even thought about being pregnant. But because of the stomach bug it didn't really stood out.
T- but how did you come up with taking a test.
L- I was solving a case with Angela when I had a super weird craving. And we talked about it. Than I told Angela I was sick this morning.
T- why didn't you tell me you were sick this morning?
L- because you wouldn't let me go to work. And I haven't felt sick all day. But Angela said it might be an option so I took a test. And it came back positive.
T- oh I am so glad. We are gonna be parents. And Tamara is going to be a big sister.

The couple went home. They were so happy. They ordered some veggie burgers and fries. To celebrate. After that they talked about their future and fell asleep in each others arms. They had to keep it secret for the rest. Because it was still to early. They made an appointment for a echo. And if everything is okay with the baby after the echo. They are going to tell Tamara.

A few weeks later.
T- I'm so excited to meet our baby today.
L- yes me too. I can't wait to hear her heartbeat.
T- her? You think it is a girl?
L- yea I have a feeling. What do you think?
T- I don't know but I will be happy either way.

The couple arrived at the appointment. They heard the heartbeat of the baby. Tim had tears in his eyes from happiness. And Lucy had a bright smile. Seeing Tim so emotional made her love him even more.
D- the baby is okay. Heartbeat sounds good. Do you guys want to know the gender?
L- yes doctor we would like to know. Can you already see it?
D- yes you are further in your pregnancy than we thought. Not too much only two weeks.
T- okay could you please tell us what we are having?
D- I won't keep you waiting any longer. But you will be having a baby girl.
L- I knew I felt it.
T- yes you were right honey. Thank you so much doctor.

The happy couple went to the store. To get a cute romper with "baby 2024".

They also put a little pink bow in the bag where they put the romper in. They were gonna give the bag to Tamara. To tell her she is going to be a big sister.
