To Be Graceful: A Willow Falls Fanfic

Chapter Eighteen

I lay on my bed for a while, and that's when I hear Kylie coming up the stairs. Since my bedroom door is still open, I wave her over into my room when she glances over in my direction.
"What's up?" She asks me.
"Just tired."
She turns to use my chair from my desk; she spins the chair around to face me, and she takes a seat.
She sighs. "Yeah, me too."
There's a moment of silence as we just stare at the air around us in contemplation.
Finally I speak up again. "Kylie?"
"Yeah?"
"Why have you been nicer to me lately? I mean, not that I'm complaining; its just... Strange."
She stares down at her hands for a minute. Eventually, she answers, "I don't know. I guess its mostly because were both growing up--getting more mature. We shouldn't be arguing forever, you know what I mean?"
I nod in agreement.
She continues, "Yeah, and I thought maybe you deserve better than how I have treated you when we were younger."
I laugh when I think of something. "Is pestering me around getting too much of a responsibility?"
"Haha. I guess. But be serious, Amanda! Things could just change at the snap of our fingers any of these days."
"What are you talking about?"
"You know exactly what I'm talking about!" She jokes.
"No, I don't!"
"Oh well then, don't worry about it... You'll understand when the time comes around."
We say our good nights, and Kylie leaves.
I'm left there to lay in my bed. I'm on my back, staring off at the ceiling above me. I contemplate everything Kylie told me.
But I don't really want to stress too much right now. So I sleep. And the next time I wake up, its midday the following day, and I realize that Leo's family already left for Chicago.
A/N: hey once more! That's really all I have left of the novel. So that's it for me. But if you are interested in writing a sequel under your account, then I will be posting the final requirements to be able to do that. I know that I already discussed this with you guys before, but now the time has come and I want to make the requirements official.
Finally, if you want to write a sequel to To Be Graceful and you already finish completing he requirements, then I'll send you some little ideas of where I wanted this story to go, to give you an idea of where it could head. Because of course I had some other ideas for this fanfiction, but I just want able to apply it to the novel later on because of my 'growing out of Willow Falls' thing.
