Later towards the evening of the same day, Namjoon found himself standing in front of his roommate's bedroom door, a warm mug of coffee clutched between his hands. Inhaling the freshly roasted scent of brewed coffee emitting from the mug, he tried to calm his unusually wrecked nerves. He reached out his hand before rapping his knuckles against the surface of the smooth wooden door to Lindsay's room.
"Lindsay?" he called out, slightly cocking his ear to the door to not miss even a faint response from his roommate. "It's me. Mind if I come in?"
From the other side of the door, there was a slight shuffle of papers being rustled along with a sudden hard thud followed by a wince before a faint yet gentle voice streamed through. "It's open."
At her permission, Namjoon gently pushed the door open as he entered the room only to find Lindsay sitting on her chair by her desk which was heavily cluttered with piles of scrawled upon papers and heaps of gigantic wide-open textbooks. Lindsay caught sight of Namjoon's appalled expression at the sight of her room and couldn't help but immediately blush.
"Hey, Namjoon. You're home!" she stuttered, plastering on an awkward smile as she rushed to straighten out her notes and pile up her books to one side of the desk to hide the horrendous sight as she was fully aware that Namjoon stood at the right hand side of organized behavior.
"Hey, Lindsay...Yeah I am." he chuckled, stepping forward into the room only to gently push away some stray papers on the floor with his foot to make a path for him to reach the girl. "You've had quite a busy day, I see." he said, coming to stand by her desk before handing out the mug to her. "I brought you coffee." he offered to her with a charming smile.
Lindsay couldn't help but smile at the sweet gesture of Namjoon being considerate enough to make her coffee. She graciously accepted the steaming mug from his hands with a sweet and polite smile. "Thank you, Namjoon." she whispered before bringing her lips close to the rim of the mug to take a sip. She sighed as the scent of the warm beverage unfurled around her; carrying undertones of roasted nuts, reminiscent of warm almonds with a hint of cocoa lingering in the background adding a touch of sweetness.
Namjoon let out a stream of chuckles slip past his lips as he basked in the soft sight of Lindsay's bustling nerves being relaxed instantly; the furrows of her eyebrows softened up, hues of rosy pink blossomed in her cheeks, and a sweet smile spread its way across her lips.
Dragging a nearby chair, Namjoon seated himself besides Lindsay before picking up one of the many textbooks on her desk and briskly flipping through the pages.
"Biology, I see." he remarked with his hand underneath his chin as he keenly observed the text and diagrams on the pages.
Lindsay nodded, carefully setting the mug aside before her tongue glided across her lips, licking some beads of coffee off of them.
"Yes, I was studying for the Biology exam that will be held this coming Monday." she explained, resting the slightly warm mug on her lap and staring at the book as Namjoon flicked past its pages.
