Sienna's POV
"Come on, you have this all wrong" Dad sighed when he saw me come out of my driver's room with my gloves and helmet in my hands.
"You're a maniac with these things" He took my wrist from my hand that wasn't holding anything and undid the velcro on the cuff.
"Forgive me for wanting you to be comfortable in the car, if you fasten it like that it will be bothering you the entire race" He fastened the velcro again, this time loser, making me shift the helmet from one hand to the other to do the same with that too.
"Any advice?" I ask.
"You know the circuit, you know your weak and strong points, we have prepared them, don't take out Marcus at the start and maybe you will have a chance to win" He was now focused on helping me with the gloves but he didn't miss how I froze for a second when I heard his name "Still tense around him?"
"He doesn't talk to me, most of the time he ignores me and then out of nowhere he has a sporadic conversation with me as if nothing was happening, I don't like it" I don't like people who I can't read easily and Marcus is one of the people who has put up the most barriers for me. I don't know if it's because he doesn't like me or because maybe he has something to hide.
"You're ready" He said after finishing putting on the second glove "Sienna, not everyone is going to be as friendly as Leo or Cristina, maybe he needs a push, you are a little intimidating sometimes" He reminds me, naming some of my past teammates.
"Me, intimidating?" I scoffed.
"You have just won F3 and you have gone to the winning team, he came second to his teammate last year"
"He's also older and has more experience here,I don't see how I am the one intimidating here" I say, now holding my helmet close to my chest.
I saw how the corner of his mouth twitched with the ghost of a smile "You are two points away from overtaking him in the championship, perhaps he sees your potential and is afraid of getting along with possible rivals, because you may share a suit but usually your teammate is your first rival"
"Then more reasons not to talk to him don't you think?" I'm honestly not seeing where he wants to get with all this.
"Your teammate can also be your greatest support, for me it was at the time. I mean I had Angela, Toto and of course your mother, but I wouldn't have achieved everything I achieved without Valtteri" He cleared out.
"You got along badly with Nico and you still won" I remind him, a smile creeping on my lips, knowing about the bumpy relationship they had when they were teammates.
"I also lost"
"You would have lost even getting along with him" I add.
"Maybe, but I also think I would have taken it better, it was a bad year"
"Hamilton!" We both turned at the call, my head mechanic, Jeremy, who was shouting just mere meters from us "The little one, come on, to the car"
"If you beat him I'll buy you a car" My dad whispered while I was putting the balaclava on.
"Wait, really?" I asked hopefully "Which one?"
"You'll know when I see you on top of that podium" My eyes squinted behind the helmet that was now on my head "I'm kidding, it's already in Monaco waiting, it's your birthday present"
"Hamilton, leave my driver!" I sigh after hearing him shout again.
"Don't tell your mum I told you, it was supposed to be a surprise" My dad said before lightly squeezing my shoulder and leaving my side, going to stand in the back of the garage.
