ෆ child birth is one of the scariest, yet beautiful things in the world
"Don't stop, not yet," you held onto Trevon's hands. Your stomach was swollen, 9 months pregnant, you would pop any day now.
Trevon made it a habit, rubbing different essential oils onto your belly, lifting it in the process. What he didn't realize is how much of a relief it brought to your back and hips.
"You look so pretty mama," he smirked at you. You were glowing, your skin flawless, carrying his baby.
"Hm, you don't wanna know how I feel," you told him, taking deep breaths, holding them, before exhaling.
You had been dealing with contractions, and were preparing for the possibility to go into labor. Your midwife had been prepping everything, wanting to ensure a smooth home birth.
"I know, and I love and respect you so much for this," he said, rubbing your stomach, as you laid your head on his shoulder.
"I need to pee," you told him, watching as he stood, carefully helping you up, when you heard a small pop, liquid soon running down your leg.
"Baby, I think my water just broke," you told him, cupping the bottom of your stomach.
His eyes widened, before called for the midwife, she, along with both of your relatives, rushed into the room. Stripping you, you were soon helped into the small pool of lukewarm water.
"Come on, mama, you got this"
"I can't do it, it hurts," you cried, shaking your head. You felt like you were being ripped apart, from inside out. Your body was on fire, it was all becoming too much.
"Yes you can, I know it hurts, but you got this," he kissed your tear covered cheek, holding your hand.
Everyone in the room encouraged you, telling you to keep pushing, but their voices soon became muffled. His voice was the only thing your eyes managed to catch.
He kept telling you to keep pushing, kissing your cheek, every few minutes. After what felt like an eternity of pain, you heard the crying, as she was lifted from the water.
"A girl," your midwife smiled, your family all began giving their congratulations, as she was placed in your arms.
"She's so beautiful," you whispered.
"Just like her mama," Trevon told you, turning your head towards him, he pecked your lips, before he furrowed his eyebrows, looking concerned.
You were about to question him, when your ears became muffled again, you began seeing dots, and just like that, you were out cold.
Waking up, you felt overwhelmed with stress, when Trevon touched your shoulder.
"You good, relax," he pecked your lips.
"What happened? Where's the baby?" You felt yourself panicking. You had been changed into a nightgown, lying comfortably in bed.
"You passed out from exhaustion, and she's in the front, my mom was feeding her with the milk you started pumping, you ready for her?" He asked, when you nodded, he helped you sit up, adjusting the pillow behind you, before he left the room.
A few minutes later, his mom followed him into the room, your babygirl bundled up, in her arms. "The princess has arrived," she told you, carefully placing her in your arms, quietly leaving the room.
"Did you name her?"
"Not yet, I wanted to let you, since you did all the hard work," he shook his head, biting back his smile at the beautiful scenery in front of him.
"Blessing? She caused hell getting here, but she's our little blessing"
"Perfect"
