-SILVER LINING-

Nightfall at camp seemed to be the most peaceful. Nightfall anywhere, really. At a certain time, the world got extremely quiet. As her coven slept in her appointed cabin a few ways down, Evangeline was sneaking out of the Hades cabin.

Even if she weren't a camper anymore, breaking curfew still felt like a complete crime.

She stops in front of the door when it quietly shuts, pressing her hands to the wood. Her eyes shut, purple and blue seeping into the wood and forming intricate designs as she speaks.

A small light emits as a rune is sealed to the door.

She stops at her Godly Cabin and does the same before moving on. As she makes her way through camp, her mind—maybe her heart—brings her to a place that is all too familiar: the Hermes cabin.

One of the lights is still on. She can peer through the window and see a group of boys huddled around a handheld game system. It brings her back to one of her many nights spent lounging in that cabin.

Eva had just gotten back from a quest earlier in the day, Luke getting back from his a day or two prior after failing. She'd gotten into a heated argument with Elio. The details were scrambled, but she remembered him going rogue and almost getting himself killed.

Anyway, she had made her way over to the Hermes cabin for a vent session, only to end up learning what a Gameboy and Playstation was.

She peered over his shoulder. "What does it do?" she asked.

"You can play games on it."

     "That's it? Just games?"

He chuckled, watching as the Playstation came to life. "You can friend people and play online games with them, too. I've got some pretty cool ones you can check out," he smiled.

His smile was contagious for her. "I don't get the fuss. You know, real warriors aren't playing games in their spare time because they have none," she joked.

Luke's gaze had softened. He gave her his full attention. "I sometimes forget how little contact you've had with the world," he says, grabbing her hand. "Our childhoods were so different."
