𝐀 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 while later, Jacob and Y/n met on the corner of Main Street. The air was cool, a gentle breeze whispering through the leaves of the trees lining the road. Y/n shifted on her feet, her hands tucked into the pockets of her jacket, a mix of nerves and excitement bubbling up inside her. Jacob stood beside her, his hands casually in his own pockets. "So... what should we do?" He asked, his voice breaking the silence between them.

He looked at her expectantly, his green eyes soft with patience. Y/n hesitated, her mind scrambling for ideas. She hadn't really planned this far ahead; she had just wanted to see him, to talk to him face-to-face. After everything that had happened, she craved the kind of normalcy that his presence provided.

"I'm not sure..." she mumbled, glancing down at her shoes. She felt a blush creeping up her cheeks, embarrassed by her lack of planning. But then, as if her stomach decided to intervene, she felt a small pang of hunger. A smile tugged at her lips as a thought popped into her mind. "But... I am kinda craving ice cream," she admitted, looking up at Jacob, hoping he'd be okay with such a simple idea.

Jacob's lips curved into a slight smile, a thoughtful look crossing his face. "I could go for ice cream," he said after a moment, nodding in agreement. "C'mon, there should be a shop down here." He gestured down the road, gently guiding Y/n with a hand on her shoulder. They walked side by side, the atmosphere light and easy, the tension of the past few days melting away with each step. They soon found themselves in front of a quaint ice cream store, its pastel colors and charming sign giving it a welcoming feel. The windows displayed a variety of flavors, the sight of colorful scoops piled high in cones making Y/n's mouth water.

Jacob stepped forward and reached for the door, holding it open with a small flourish. "Ladies first," he said.

Y/n couldn't help but smile, feeling a bit bashful as she stepped inside. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice soft. She brushed past him, the familiar scent of waffle cones and sugar wafting over her, bringing back fond memories of simpler times.

Jacob followed behind her, letting the door close softly behind them.

Inside, the shop was cozy, with a few small tables scattered around and a cheerful display case full of ice cream. The hum of a quiet tune played over the speakers, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. Y/n felt some of the tension she'd been carrying ease from her shoulders as she took in the cheerful surroundings.

Y/n scanned the array of flavors, feeling like a kid again as she tried to decide while the bright-eyed cashier behind the counter worked on helping the family in front of them. "What are you getting?" she proceeded to ask Jacob, glancing over at him.

Jacob pretended to think hard, his brow furrowing. "Hmm, tough choice. I'm leanin' towards Moose Tracks," he said, then looked at her. Couldn't ever go wrong with vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups and fudge. "What about you?" He then added.

Y/n laughed softly, her eyes lighting up. "I'm torn between (favorite ice cream flavor) and (second favorite ice cream flavor)." She replied.

"Get both," Jacob suggested, his tone teasing. "I can treat ya." He offered.

Y/n glanced at him, feeling a little flustered by the offer. She appreciated his kindness, but she didn't want to overdo it. "That's really sweet of you, but I think I'll stick to just one scoop," she said with a small smile. She felt a little self-conscious; the last thing she wanted was for her half to cost too much.

"Alright, if you say so," Jacob replied.

When it came time to order, Y/n chose her favorite flavor, just a single scoop in a bowl. Jacob followed suit, and after paying for both of them, they found a quiet table by the window. The ice cream parlor had a cozy, nostalgic feel to it—faded pastel-colored walls and soft, retro music playing in the background. It felt like the kind of place where time slowed down, a perfect contrast to the whirlwind of emotions Y/n had been feeling lately.
