"Did you come on a boat or are we going to have to steal one?" You asked.

You could barely see him, but he seems to know where he is going.

"There are boats here." he assured you.

Jumping when you felt Luca squeeze your hand you give it a light squeeze. You're sure being attacked by those cave goblins didn't do much for his bravery. You honestly don't blame him. This passageway is much like the cave.

Finally, spotting a light at the end, you felt him pull your hand into a light jog. Seems like you're almost done, but something does not feel right about this. The puzzles are not fitting together. Exiting the passageway, you were now in what looked like a prison cell. On the other end were two people who you recognized easily. My father, Lord (L/N), and Alex. Grinning, you gave your father a hug. Your mind is still reeling about the pieces though. How did they know you were here? How did they get here? How did Remus know about that secret passageway?

Frowning, you looked up at your father to question, but froze when you saw the thing that was playing my father. Another monster of water with white lights where the eyes and mouth should be. Looking over at where Alex should be you saw another monster like it.

"Remus." You turned to voice your warning but froze when you saw black dragon-like wings sprouting from his back and horns curling from his head.

His red dragon eyes studied you as if there was nothing wrong. This explains a lot.

"(Y/N), what's wrong?" Luca questioned finally catching onto your worry.

His eyes went wide as if he wanted to say something, but he did not open his mouth. He must know that something is off as well. After years of training how could he not?

Pulling away from the monster, your vision seemed to warp until you saw the regular Alex, your father, and Remus standing in the room. You don't know what is going on. Infact, you might be losing your mind, or that angel-human hybrid egg did a number on you. How are you able to see monster through their disguises?

"I think I'm okay. Just seeing things." You muttered, thinking of a way to expose them to the others without sounding crazy, "If we're going to escape then we need more weapons."

"We'll be okay without weapons." Remus assured you, which is something he would never say in a situation like this.

He always has weapons hidden in case they are needed. Usually, he would say that having a weapon, even a small one will assure that we can win a fight against monsters. That's why you've kept the letter opener in your sleeve.

"What are we going to do if we need them?" You questioned before the monster playing your father put a reassuring hand on your shoulder.

"Ease up sweetie, we'll protect you." He laughed, but that was all the proof you needed.

Grabbing his hand, you twisted it into an arm lock that brought him to his knees. In turn everyone in the room gasped. Once again, your sight showed a room of monsters.

"Have you lost your mind?" The monster playing Alex questioned.

"I have to say, if you're going to trick me, do it better." I hissed, "Remus, your glamor is good, just like these monsters, but you're failing to stay in character. You alway told us to keep a weapon on us for emergencies. Why not now that we're in the center of the monster's den? My father knows and would never expect me to sit back and let others fight when I can. What's more he never calls me sweetie. So, I'll give you the count of three to drop the glamor before I break his arm off."

"Maya, you can't be sure of all this." Flora objected.

Ignoring her, you glared at Remus who looked only surprised that you called them out at being monsters.

"One." No one moved, "Two." You applied more pressure to the wrist lock.

The monster screamed out then the room seemed to heat up as it changed. Luca and the others gasped when they saw the change. Now they can see the monsters you see. Returning your glare to Remus, you saw that he didn't look impressed. More like he was disappointed yet expected this.

"I should have known this wasn't going to work on you." He sighed before looking at the shapeshifters, "Leave. I'll be okay."

They seemed to melt into the floor before they were gone. Now that it is only your group, this will be easier.

"What are you?" Flora gasped as if that was the only thing she could say.

From the way he acts though that question could be saved for later. You already know that he is a monster and until you have to kill him that is all you need to know. That would explain how he found out you were here, how he knows his way around the passageways, and how he traveled the sea without having a ship go down. He seemed to sense your thoughts, because he turned to you.

"Who are you is more of a question. It's obvious you have some kind of power here." You growled losing all trust in him.

"Yeah, I'm pretty powerful here, you could say. I am the King of Dragons and the ambassador for the Fey Queen and her son." he muttered.

If he has been a monster this whole time, then you never knew him. You know nothing about him. Everything from the past years that you've learned about him doesn't matter. He is the enemy now. That is all you're going to see him as now.

"Then was this your whole plan?" You growled feeling your irritation and anger grow, "Get us to trust you, kill all our comrades, then bring us as your prisoners?" you hissed getting closer to him to attack him.

You would have too, but Luca and Flora moved to hold you back. Despite holding you back, they weren't looking at Remus, as if they were shunning him silently.

"No, I swear that wasn't the plan." He answered as if you should believe him.

"Tell us how we're supposed to believe you?" Gabriel spoke for you.

At least he has enough motivation to speak now. Remus acted like he wanted to speak, but probably knew that at this point his words don't have any meaning.

"Okay then. I'll let you all calm down." He sighed, placing his hand over the passageway door.

His hand started to glow a faint green before the door opened. Letting him out and locking you in.

"How did you know that wasn't them?" Flora questioned making everyone turn to you.

"I don't know. It's just that when a monster touches me, I can somehow see their true form. I think it had something to do with the angel I fought, but I can't be sure." You explained shaking your head.

"It could have something to do with your eyes." Luca blurted out before looking you straight in the eyes, "When Remus or those other monsters touch you, your eyes turn gold. I think it could have something to do with that."

Humming at the thought, you sat on the floor against the wall. You wish you knew, but for now, it is going to be helpful here to identify monsters. At some point, you hope you'll find the answers.
