KABIR'S POV
The sun shining through the window lit up the side of her face as if a halo was there behind her, making her distinct from the whole mortal world, like an extremely exquisite apsara descending the earth.
Her soft black hair slightly curled around her face as the rest was loosely wrapped up in a low ponytail on her head, the stray strands sticking around her face added a naïve touch to her ethereal beauty. The way her long lashes fluttered when she blinks makes me want to caress them lightly with the top of my fingers just like a dragonfly gently touching the surface of the lake.
Her straight nose, slightly plump pink lips only added more to her beauty. Her soft gaze as she turned back to give a smug smile to her friends sitting at the back as they talked about whatever inside joke they had, honestly I didn't care to listen because my whole focus on her, just on her.
However, when she turned her head to glance at me with that seemingly indifferent look in her eyes before turning back to look at front made me speak up,
"So....I'm Kabir."
She hasn't looked at me even once since I came to sit beside her but I guess she got surprised hearing me speak because she suddenly turned to look at me with a bewildered look in her eyes which was quickly masked up by her indifferent face but it was there for a second at least. Her monotonous answer came back, "I know,"
"Oh." Not expecting her to actually answer, I was a bit dumbfounded and instinctively replied with a stupid "oh".
God Kabir! Get a grip! How can you just utter "oh" in front of her? Speak something else, something interesting! Don't you dare bore her!
"Umm, you like strawberries?" Was the first question that came to my mind and I internally facepalmed myself.
She looked more confused.
Sorry, even I'm confused....
Trying to rectify the situation, I thought of asking something else but what came out of my not-so-controllable mouth was -
"That wall is painted pretty nice colour. You like the bottle?"
What. The. Fuck.
English grammar went all out my head the moment I spoke this. And there was this invisible imaginary bottle in front of me!
Why?!
Like why?! Why did my mind conjure up the image of a fucking bottle when I only wanted to ask her something interesting! Is a bottle in-fucking-teresting? FUCKING NO!
She looked shocked as her brows raised slightly.
"Kabir..." Her hand reached out towards me slightly but she soon retracted it to her side. Her brows knitted as she asked in a seemingly concerned manner. "...are you alright?"
"I..." I quickly shook my head with a smile on my face. "Yeah, I'm good."
"You don't seem so." She stared at me with an obviously feigned uncertain look in her eyes.
"I.....actually...you.." I knew it wasn't serious but I still stuttered before finally rambling up some nonsenses that my so called smart mind just decided to let out in front of my long term crush, strongly going for her to have a weird impression of me. Idiot mind! Be on my side!
"Well, sometimes I just think of things and speak those things, then people think things."
Saying this, I quickly turned my head to the side. The faded white paint of the wall that had cracks on itself surface, seemingly easily able to be peeled with just single touch seemed more interesting to me that the beautiful dark brown eyes of the girl I love sitting beside me.
However, just a second after, I heard the most beautiful and precious sound in my ears and I almost gasped. Fuck, she laughed. Her slight laugh sounded so utterly heavenly that I inevitably turned around so without caring that I was the reason for her laugh.
It's alright. She can laugh at me all she wants.
