[Trying To Get To Heaven Before They Close The Door]

It was New Year's Eve. Virgil, a senior, was throwing a New Year's party. Lana wanted to get so drunk she wouldn't be able to remember her name. Her abortion was 3 days ago so it was still new so she was still trying to process it.

"If I don't find a bathroom, I'm gonna spend New Year's with a fucking UTI." Maddy said jumping out of the car. She came with Jules and Kat, "Does anyone know where the bathroom is?" She ask running by people into the house.

"Where's the bathroom?" Maddy asked a group of guys talking, "That way." One of the guys pointed down the hall, "Thank you." Maddy ran off

"Maddy!" Lexi called her, Maddy turned to face her, "Have you seen Cassie?"

"I thought she was with you." Maddy said, "No, we like got in a screaming fight and she got out the car in the middle of the road." Lexi said

"Wait, what? What were you fighting about?" Maddy asked concerned, "She was drinking while I was driving. She got out and said she was gonna call Lana. Have you seen her?" Lexi asked

"No. How long ago was this?" Maddy asked, "Like an hour and a half." Lexi checked the time

"Did you call them?" Maddy asked
"I don't have Lana's number and Cassie's not answering." Lexi said
"She always answers. Hold on let me call lana." Maddy said pulling out her phone, "I know. It's fucking weird. I'm actually worried. She was, like, very drunk." Lexi said

Maddy pull her phone away from her ear, "Lana's not answering either." Maddy said and turned her phone off, "I'm sure they're fine. There's no way Cassie's going to miss a New Year's Eve party." Maddy said knowing Cassie's been to every party ever thrown while Lana has skipped some.

Maddy had walked to the bathroom and was beating on the door cause Nate was taking forever. A guy named Travis walked up and started talking to her.

"Hey." Maddy turned and saw Lana, "Hey where have you been?" Maddy asked, "Outside by the hot tub." Lana said, "Did you pick up Cassie." Maddy asked

"I didn't know I had to. No one told me." Lana sipped her drink, "no she came with Lexi but they got into a fight and Cassie said she was calling you but Lexi hasn't seen her and she's not answering her phone." Maddy said

"I didn't get a call or text from her that I know of." Lana said, "Where is your phone? I called you too." Maddy asked, "In my car I think." Lana shrugged and then the bathroom door opened and Nate walked out.

Lana looked at him and downed the rest of her drink. They haven't talked or seen each other since he found out he had got her pregnant and stormed out of her house.

Nate looked at her, "Wait, did you not wash your hands?" Maddy asked, Nate looked at Maddy confused, "What the fuck are you talking about, Maddy?" Nate asked

"I can't believe you took a shit at a party, and you didn't wash your hands." Maddy said, Nate looked at her confused and then glanced at Lana who was looking at anything but him.

"Yo, wassup? My name's Travis. I would shake your hand, but I don't wanna get Hepatitis." Travis said introducing himself, "I have to fucking pee. Move." Maddy said and pushed by nate and went into the bathroom.

Lana then turned and left not wanting to be near Nate any longer. Nate followed her and pulled her into a room, "We need to talk." Nate said "We don't need to do anything." Lana said

"Yeah, we do. Did you really get the abortion?" Nate asked, "If I didn't do you really think I'd be drinking right now?" She asked

"Some people drink when they're pregnant." Nate said, "And you just assumed I was one of those people?" Lana asked, "I was just saying." Nate said, "Okay." Lana mumbled

"Look I'm sorry I freaked out on you like that." Nate said lana nodded, "Whatever."

"Don't do that, you were freaking out too." Nate said, "Yeah but I didn't put my hands on you and get mad at you cause you couldn't pull out." Lana said

"Lana..." she interrupted him, "Don't. Me getting pregnant was just as much your fault as it was mine. You didn't put a condom on and I didn't tell you to. You can freak out but you don't get to be mad at me, because it take two to make a child. Don't try and pin the pregnancy just on me."

"I'm not pinning it on you." Nate said, "Then why did you get so angry when you found out I was pregnant? Like it was my fault. Like you didn't know I could get pregnant when we were actively fucking and not using a condom." Lana asked

"Because you were pregnant!" Nate raised his voice, "That is not a valid reason! You can't just get mad at me cause you got me pregnant. When you do that, it's like you're pinning all of it on me. It's like you're saying that it's my fault that I got pregnant and it's not just my fault. You're the one who can't pull out!" Lana argued

"Well that's not my fault." Nate argued back, "That you can't pull out? I think that part is your fault." Lana said Nate got quiet. He didn't want to admit that she was probably the best he'd had. He didn't want to admit that she made him feel good.

She looks at him confused, "Look Nate I don't think we should do this anymore." She said, "I think we should just leave each other alone."

Nate looked at her, she was the realest friend and person he had gotten to know in a while. She never tried to change herself for anyone and she clearly knew when to fight back when needed.

He didn't want to lose her. There wasn't much worse he could do after what he had just done with Cassie in the bathroom, that was both of maddys best friends he had now slept with.

Lana sighed, "Look Nate I don't really think it's a secret that I feel something for you, but I don't think it's a good idea for us to keep doing this."

"No." Nate said, lana blinked confused, "No?"

"No. No, I'm not going to lose you so..." he shrugged, "Nate." Lana sighed, "No, lana because I actually really like you." Lana fought back a smile, "see you don't really want to stop seeing me either." Nate said and step forward

Lana rolled her eyes and smiled. She did not like that she could stay mad at him. Nate smirk and step forward and kissed her.

Lana kissed back but shoved him away when they heard the door open. Lana turned and saw Cassie and Mckay, "Sorry." Mckay said and started to close the door, "No it's fine we were done." Lana said and stoping them from leaving.

Lana and Cassie looked at each other. Lana didn't know that something had happened with her Nate. And Cassie didn't understand how lana seemed to hide her guilt so well, cause Cassie felt very guilty for what she had done.

But she did know one thing, she wasn't going to do it again.

Also, I promise Cassie and Lana will stay friends still. There won't be any hatred between them.
