Chapter 14: Intense Happenings

Meanwhile, at the cult's church, Stella had just been taken out of the trunk of the lieutenant's car and thrown into a cell where the cult members were now gawking at her from outside. A few minutes later, the priest and the lieutenant walked up with evil grins. The priest smiled and said, "Well well, looks like we finally caught the sneaky squirrel that's been poking its nose down all the wrong holes...I must admit, I never thought a pest could look this beautiful".Stella tried to yell at him with a witty retort but was unable to with the cloth tied around her mouth and her hands still bound by cuffs.

After hearing her yell, his mouth began to water as he turned to the other members and said"Men, tonight we will sacrifice her for defying the wishes of the almighty Jahy, but first we must cleanse her".The members looked at him confused before he said"We must cleanse her with our seed!" Hearing this, the men chanted and Stella screamed...even though she had moved on from what her uncle did to her, she vowed that she'd kill herself before she allowed herself to live through something like that ever again...she just couldn't handle it. As the men pulled down their pants and opened the door, Stella prepared to slit her wrists with the sharp part of the handcuffs but before she could, there was a loud boom. The men immediately closed the door, pulled their pants up and one said"They're here; time to go kill me some cops".

Meanwhile, Carson and the tactical team arrived on sight just as the first team blew in the doors. Carson immediately tried to run over to the first team but was held back by the chief and he was lucky the chief did. The first team was met with a hail of automatic gunfire from inside which injured a few men but in the end was futile. They simply called for the second wave while firing rubber and real bullets as well as teargas. After the entrance was cleared, the chief sent Carson's team inside and told them to defend first and gather pictures second. When he entered into the church, he found himself standing in your typical catholic church with rows of wooden pews, stained glass windows, and a stage up front.

It wasn't until he followed the rest of the men and charged behind the doors that were beside the stage that he got to see how creepy it was. One door went behind the stage where there was a long hallway of rooms, while the other headed for the basement. Thinking that Stella might be down there, he filed down the steps as Stella flashed on his mind. In that moment he didn't care what happened, he did care how much humility he had to face when he saw her, he just knew he had to find her. As he charged through the basement looking for Stella, his heart began pounding, he began hearing her and seeing glimpses of his smile which seemed to drive him harder as if he was a supercharged engine throttling to his limit; nothing else mattered.

He continued running through the maze of corridors hopped up on adrenaline until he headed down another set of stairs into a torch-lit hallway before colliding with someone. He immediately freaked out and drew his gun before realizing it was a fellow officer, or so he thought until he saw the broken cuffs on this person's arms. He immediately yelled"Hands motherfucker, before shooting at this person's feet and causing them to tumble before he pounced on them. As he sat on the person, he immediately realized it was a light brown woman and he quickly took the tactical helmet off, revealing it to be Stella.

Carson immediately teared up as he pulled Stella into a passionate kiss which lasted for a few seconds before she pushed him off. She smiled and said, "Hey, hey pull it together, I know you got a lot you probably want to tell me but we are in the middle of a raid so get yourself together and let's go...we'll talk when it's done". Carson wiped his tears and nodded stood up with Stella and headed in search of a way out of there. It took nearly 15 minutes of stumbling but the two found their way back out and onto the lawn where several cop cars were full of the members in their red suits with the crest on them sat. The FBI was now on the scene and closing the area up while the chief appeared to be arguing with the FBI director until the two detectives walked up, and drew their attention.

The FBI director, whose name tag read: Larry Mendez; turned his attention to the two detectives and said with a smile"It's a good thing we were on station and ready...good job on this case". Larry's smile then turned to a frown as he said"Now that this case is over, I want you two jokers out of my city! do you understand the mayhem you've caused and all the additional men I had to send just to smoke the governor and the mayor out? hmm? we have rules and when you break them you face the consequences". The chief tried to open his mouth but the director cut him off and said"Don't even try to cover for these two; they have tons more violations that I'm willing to overlook now that this mess is solved. As far as I'm concerned though, these two are barred from any more work in LA for the time being".

Stella and Carson simply laughed at the man before interlocking their hands, shrugging their shoulders, and walking away with smiles on their faces which confused the FBI director. He turned to the chief and said"What the hell, I revoke their licenses and they smile?"The chief shrugged and said, "Looks like they found something else more important than their jobs".
