Chapter 15: The Final questions

After walking for a few blocks, Carson and Stella hailed a cab and booked a hotel for the night. Now that the main case was over, the air had gotten tense yet again as the two knew that had some loose ends to tie up, which would change their lives moving forward, but the only problem was that both of them were too afraid to take point and speak first. After the two checked in and walked up to their room, they both awkwardly sat in silence at opposite ends of the room, pretending to browse on their phones. Carson sat there for an hour or two before he finally had enough and decided to face the embarrassment and speak first. As he walked over to Stella, he noticed she was watching something on her phone and when he saw what it was, he froze. What she was watching was his rant in Chief Harris's office which he really didn't want her to hear as he thought he sounded pathetic at the time.

Seeing him walk up caused her to remove her earplugs and turn around, revealing the tears running down her eyes. Carson prepared to speak before she put her finger on his lips and said"You've already said enough, it's time for me to stop being so protective and make a choice...and that choice is to be with you".Carson looked at her confused before she giggled and said"When I first met you, you were cold as a stone and I felt like you were no better than any other man, but you constantly proved me wrong and it irritated me. I desperately wanted to be right so I didn't have to face falling in love and putting my heart and my body out there".

She continued and said"But getting to spend time with you even if it was just solving the case, really made me feel at home. I can begin to tell you how it felt having someone on my level around and someone who cared for me and not just my body. Let's face it, you've been caring and watching over me since the day you realized I was the niece of the guy you took down aka my uncle...you've always had a soft side for me".Anyways, I really do love the dynamic we have, I love how you played along with my antics, knowing very well I was prideful and also couldn't show my feelings very well but that changed". That night after the attack when I saw you all worked up about me, I kinda knew right there that I liked you but I didn't know how deep it ran until today".In truth, after the fun we had out of state, I was going to wait longer to see if you were truly serious since I'm obviously an insecure mess, but these recent events changed that".

She kissed his cheek before saying"You destroyed your career for me, saved my life 3 times now, and even though we still don't really know much about each other right now,I still feel like this is a wonderful start. Carson, I want to learn more about you, I want to be with you,I want you to hold onto me and never let go. I've seen how you care for me and how I changed you and how you changed me and I want us to keep growing together, I'm looking for a change just like you".Carson smiled and said" I want to be with you too" Stella smiled and said"we're skipping dating right?" and he said"well we already had sex so might as well but I have one more condition as well". Stella smiled and said, "what is it, my Fiancee?" Carson hesitated for a bit but he came out and said"I want to stop being a detective and settle down back home and live my life to the fullest with you".

Stella looked at him in surprise before saying"What brought this on? was it that director, because I know a few people who can deal with him" He said"No, my mother called and told me that there was no point in doing my job anymore if I never found a reason to settle down and enjoy life...she wanted me to settle down and have some kids and enjoy my life". Stella blushed hard and said"I-I think we can do that, besides I have a crap ton of savings" Carson smiled and said"me too". Stella jumped into Carson's arms before saying"then it's settled, we'll move over to the east coast and settle down and become instructors in Virginia". He looked at her and said"how'd y- " before he could finish she said, "I know a guy at the FBI's academy who needs teachers and were we're overqualified; in fact he's been trying to get me there for the last few years".

Carson pulled her into a passionate kiss which once again spiraled out of control. As he fell backward on the bed, Stella who was already in his arms, saw the advantage and immediately pounced. She planted kisses all along Carson's neck and his collarbones as he moaned in pleasure and his face turned redder than a tomato. She loved seeing this side of the stoic man; it made her feel special. Once she was done, she pulled all his clothes off before he suddenly flipped her over and said"You started this, you better hope you can finish it ma'am" She sneered and said"I always do" and he giggled and said"We'll see about that" before his fingers crept into her panties.
