"i don't see anything." derek stood before the group of teenagers, arms crossed in front of his chest, eyeing scott pointedly. "look again." a sigh left the older man's lips, right before one left delilah's.

"what's up, sunshine?" stiles' eyes had drifted towards the brunette girl, who's hand was holding up her limp head, a pout on her lips. "my dad woke me up when he got home. is it just texans who talk really loud on the phone?" the raven haired boy let out a chuckle, pulling the girls head towards his shoulder, letting her get comfortable on him. "they're trying to help."

"these two? this one, who used me to resurrect my psychotic uncle. thank you. and this one, who shot about thirty arrows into me and my pack." delilah's eyes flicked up at this, eyeing derek with a look that was a lot less menacing than she believed it to be.

"you know that's not fair, derek." the man let out a sigh once more, shrugging his shoulders at the girl. "come on, no one died. look there may have been a little maiming, okay, a little mangling, sure, but no death. that's what i call an important distinction."

"my mother died."

"i was also shot."

stiles looked down at the girl, flicking his thumb down her bottom lip as a signal for her to be quiet. the tension between allison and derek was killing delilah. confrontation was never really her thing. "your family's little honour code killed your mother. not me." derek rolled his eyes, walking out of the classroom with scott in tow. delilah's head was resting safely on stiles' shoulder, as allison and lydia wandered away from them.

"whatcha thinking about?" delilah was pulled out of her thoughts by the raven haired boy, who's brown eyes peered down at her with concern. "the fact that allison doesn't know her mom tried to kill scott. like i get why scott hasn't told her, he doesn't wanna ruin the only good memories she has with her mom, but it's the only way she's going to stop blaming derek for the things her family did."

stiles had a frown on his lips, his eyes pouring into the girl beside him. "don't look at me like that, sti." he held his hands up in surrender, letting out a deep sigh. "dee, you don't think that you're making this a little bit about your mom?"

"my mom leaving is nothing compared to what allison's gonna go through when she eventually finds out."

"trying to fix allison's trauma won't heal yours. it'll just make it hurt more."
