if i could grant you peace of mind, if you could let me inside your heart
~ That Would Be Enough by Phillipa Soo & Lin-Manuel Miranda
there had been a big celebration nearby, you had texted Satoru asking if he'd like to join you but he unfortunately had a busy schedule today. so here you were, all alone. there were tons of people, some dressed up in costumes others in normal clothes. though parties weren't your particular taste in a good time, this celebration usually had many good pop-up food stands. you took this opportunity to try out a plethora of different snacks as well as take some home for Satoru. the two of you have been together for almost 2 and a half years now and things were going great. you had just recently moved in together. finding time to see each other had started getting a little more difficult with Gojo working more than usual these days. he refrained from speaking much about his work as a way to prevent enemies from using you for information if it were to ever happen that you got captured. he was really paranoid about this, it took a lot of convincing for him to agree to move in together. though you didn't blame him, you were just a normal human after all, if his enemies were to get a hold of you, you wouldn't last a single blow. but you didn't mind the risk if it meant you could be with him.
"2 please, could you make one togo?" you ask the lady at the stand. she nods, giving you one pastry on a stick and the other packed away in a paper bag. you add it to your bigger bag you brought with you. there was a sudden rush of screaming and yelling in the distance, louder than it had previously been. you glance further down the street, assuming it was just some show to do with the celebration. you continued your shopping and taste testing. a few minutes had gone by before another rush of screaming and shouting filled the air, this time closer. "LET US OUT!" you see a group of people huddled together. anxiety starts to fill your body, you begin to feel uneasy. it wasn't long before things began getting hectic. "GET SATORU GOJO!" someone yells next to you, your heart skips at the sound of his name. you quickly grab hold of them with your free hand. before you could speak a girl next to him quickly asked who Satoru was. "i don't know! i just know we need him here to save us!" he continues to pound on the invisible barrier that trapped everyone in. everyone joining the man screaming for someone to bring Satoru here. before you knew it you found yourself being sucked into the ground, falling onto the platform of the subway underneath Shibuya. panic filled the people around you, you did your best to remain calm, clinging onto your bag, but found it difficult not knowing what was going on. "Satoru... please," you whisper to yourself. save us.
hours had passed and nothing had happened. there was no way to get back up, everyone had been blocked off by another barrier. you had been backed in a corner, keeping your distance from everyone panicking at the center of the platform. that's when you saw him. "Satoru," you whisper to yourself in disbelief as he came down from the ceiling. "SATORU!" you yell, standing up once he gets to the ground. he had been staring off at something. what the hell is happening. how many curses are there? this seems too organized to be a random attack. he looks over at you, eyes widening at the sight of you. the rest of the crowd yells in relief as they gawk at the man. "WE'RE SAVED!" someone yells. Satoru glances at all the people trapped down here, doing his best to not make it obvious he knew you. fighting the urge to check if you were hurt. he began to fight someone... or something. everyone began to panic again, trying to keep their distance from battle. you watch Satoru closely, you trusted he'd have the fight under control but you still worried, still felt uneasy for some reason. it didn't help that Satoru seemed a bit off from all of this, like this was unexpected. it had to've been. he wouldn't have allowed you to be here had he known something was going to happen. before you knew it there was a big explosion against the wall Satoru stood in front of. the wall had been dented as if a massive wrecking ball had slammed into it. he glances over his shoulder, looking at whoever else was there the crowd couldn't see. you can't help but let your mind run off, forgetting the danger you were in. it wasn't often you got to see him fight, for obvious reasons, but when you did it was hard to not admire just how amazing and hot he looks when he's serious.
a subway had pulled up, everyone immediately rushing to the doors, trying to pry them open, shoving each other out of the way. you kept your distance, the uneasiness settling in once again. why is a subway pulling up now? did help send it here? no... they wouldn't send rescue through a subway... so what-... your train of thought was interrupted when the doors flung open and people started dying left and right by the monsters pouring out of it. "shit," you step back. "what the hell are they," you catch a glimpse of Satoru, your eyes meeting in horror, his filled with anger. with just a glance he was able to tell you everything you needed to know. "no way...," you look back at the monsters pouring out, "they're humans?!" no wonder he's pissed off... you took a step back closer to the wall. Satoru wasn't moving now, he seemed to be thinking. there was too much going on. Satoru flung his arm as if swatting something off him, following with a punch. you continued to watch him, keeping yourself out of view from the transfigured humans pouring in. "Y/N! Satoru screamed, panic filling his entire body as you watched him rush over to you. "Satoru...?" you felt something touch your shoulder. a feeling boiled inside you, something wasn't right. something felt wrong. why were you crying all of a sudden? why were you so scared now? why did it feel like you'd never see Satoru again? "Satoru," you breathed out. "Y/N!!!!!" he screamed again, reaching out to you. out of instinct you reached out to him too, "i love you, Satoru Gojo," you say before everything goes black. you could hear him calling out to you. "i love you," you hear him say, feeling his arms around you. his voice was shaky with rage and sadness. "Domain Expansion," was the last thing you heard before your consciousness slipped away. despite the pain you felt coursing through your body previously, hearing his voice, feeling his touch one last time was enough to overpower any pain you had been feeling.
