I dropped to my knees beside Will's still body, and looked around frantically for help, but Coral was nowhere to be seen.

Think, Hazel, think! I was under pressure and wasn't thinking straight. I needed to calm down. I took a deep breath, and exhaled slowly, trying to recreate the bubble like I did the first time.

I cupped my hands around my mouth and blew. A bubble started to form. I kept blowing air until the bubble was large enough to fit around Will's head. This time, it didn't pop though.

I sat back on my heels, and sighed. I did it. I thought. Now I have to wake him up.

I started to do chest compressions, hoping he would cough out the water he swallowed. I did thirty compressions, but I couldn't do CPR without popping the bubble again, so I stuck with the compressions.

After about a minute, Will coughed violently, and water surged from his mouth. It slowly seeped out the bubble, without letting the air out.

His eyes slowly opened. Will blinked a few times, getting back into his surroundings. "Hazel," he said quietly. I leaned closer to catch what he was saying.

"Yeah?"

"Screw you." Though he was smiling, I still felt terrible on the inside.

"I know, and I'm so sorry. I didn't know what went wrong." I sighed, looking down at my hands. "At least you're not dead." I smiled a weak smile, trying to make both of us feel better.

I got up, and held out my hand to Will, helping him up. I was extremely relieved when after I told him everything, he still treated me the same. I was afraid he was going to see me as a freak.

"Let's go," Will said, getting up. We walked through the buildings, some torn down and rotting, some standing tall and proud.

I wanted to show him something. I made him stand a few feet away from me. I had a mischievous glint in my eye, and I smiled slyly. "Just watch."

I waited until a school of fish came around and held out my arms. They stopped wherever they were going, and swam towards me. I laughed, still not used to this sensation. They started to swim around me and I held my hands above my head.

I stole a shy glance at Will to find that he was staring at me in a way he never did before. It was as if he saw me in a totally new light now, and I was a new person.

"Come!" I called out to him.

"What, me? No, no, just keep doing what you're doing." He paused. "I like watching you do it."

I felt my cheeks go red, but I wanted him to share this experience with me. If he wasn't going to come to me, I'll come to him.

I started to move towards him and his eyes widened.

"What are you-" He broke off what he was saying as I whispered to the fish to surround Will instead. "Oh my God!"

His eyes were bright with wonder, and I wondered if that was how I looked like. Now I knew where he was coming from. Watching Will made me feel something on the inside, something genuine.

I walked beside Will, and the fish parted for me. We stood side by side and I told the fish to perform something.

They stopped looping around us, and began what looked like synchronized swimming. I couldn't keep the smile off my face, and by the looks of it, neither could Will.

"This is amazing," I breathed.

"You're amazing," he whispered under his breath. I pretended not to hear him.

Our fingers interlaced like it was the most natural thing ever, and we stayed holding hands until the performance was over.

Fish were swimming all over us, going every which way, and it was mesmerizing.

Once they finished, I thanked them and they swam off to wherever they were heading to before.

I watched them leave, and realized this was the first time Will saw me do anything... supernatural. Well, apart from making the air bubble, and almost killing him.

"Say something," I said quietly, looking up at Will from under my eyelashes.

"I can't," he said, and my heart dropped. What? Why? "I'm speechless."

He turned and gave me his cheeky little grin, and I playfully punched him in the arm. "Same."

"To be honest," he said. "That made me a bit dizzy."

I laughed. "To be honest," I replied. "That made the fish dizzy too."

"It's always a rollercoaster with you, Hazel, isn't it?"

I paused. My life never used to be like this. It was pretty boring, average at the most. Just a typical high school student. I never really stopped to think about all these changes. I didn't even know which life I preferred.

Then a thought hit me. "Will, after all this is done-"

"And if we don't die," Will added.

"Yeah, and if we don't die, what's going to happen after that?"

We looked at each other and I waited for what he was going to say.

"I don't know, Hazel. When I saw you and your sister jumping in the lake with Coral, I knew something magical was going to happen. It was like my body acted on its own when I jumped in after you."

"So... What are you trying to say?" I held my breath.

"I'm trying to say that I made my choice when I jumped in. Whatever happens, happens. We might get hurt. We might get taken against our will. After all this, we might never be the same again."

He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"But I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. For you."
