'Morning!' Dot said enthusiastically.
I blinked in the light; my head was pounding. 'Dude, not so loud.' I groaned throwing a pillow in her general direction.
'Come on, if we're going to get breakfast, we've got 40 minutes!' She told me, throwing the pillow at Hort who woke with a start.
'What?' He bellowed.
'Get up!' She laughed. 'Get those two up.' She told me before sweeping out of the room.
I pushed Hester, causing her to fall off the bed and suddenly wake up. She grabbed a skull that was on my table and chucked it at me full-pelt. I luckily caught it with my magic, gently floating it back towards my table.
'Anadil! Wakey wakey!' I yelled, laughing as I headed off to get a quick shower and get ready for the day. Luckily classes were cancelled today because of the ball, so I didn't bother too much with my appearance. I put my hair up in a messy bun and stuck on a pair of black jeans and an off-white oversized sweater, tucking the front into my jeans and headed back into my room to put on my boots. The group was all up now and we soon headed down to the dining hall for breakfast. I definitely needed caffeine right now.
I couldn't remember much of last night; I think the last thing I could recall was that Hort had taken a random potion and ended up quacking like a duck, and Hester had let her demon free, but it was just drunkenly flapping around the room. I smiled to myself. We were absolutely insane; I was shocked we didn't wake other students with the racket we were making.
We soon reached the dining room, and I wasted no time grabbing a coffee and a croissant. We all took our usual table which other students had assumed by now was our territory. Hort took a seat next to me and laid his head on the table.
'How drunk did you get, Hort?' Anadil shook her head. 'Even I wasn't that bad.'
'Oh, don't even remind me,' He groaned. 'My head hurts.'
'Oh, don't be such a baby.' Hester cackled. 'Even I'm fine, and I'm sure I drank more than you.'
'Katherine's hungover too!' Hort defended.
I sipped my coffee. 'No, I'm with the others on this one. I'm already fine, what the hell were you drinking besides rum?'
'I'm not entirely sure.' He said sheepishly while we laughed.
I looked up as Lesso walked past, and I tried to play it cool, like my heart wasn't racing just from seeing her. She caught my eye though, and winked as she strode past. I couldn't stop a smile forming on my face. Dot wiggled her eyebrows at me jokingly, and I rolled my eyes. 'Don't even say anything.'
The others quickly finished breakfast so I grabbed my coffee and took it with me as we headed back up to my dorm.
Dot took a seat at my dressing table, while everyone else got comfortable on my bed.
I carefully placed my coffee on my bedside table, throwing myself next to Hester.
'So Katherine,' Anadil started. 'What's exactly the deal with you and Lady Lesso?'
'What do you mean?' I asked casually, picking my coffee up again and sipping it.
'Like, is it official, you two seeing each other?' Hester pressed.
'Well considering we're keeping things a secret, I wouldn't exactly say we're official. Besides, we don't really do anything aside from kiss.' I shrugged. 'I mean, what we have, it's different. There's definitely chemistry there. Will it last? Who knows? Point is, I'm a free agent. What me and Lesso have, there's no stopping it.'
