We soon left class, and I was just ready for my bed. I wasn't too hungry, I felt a bit nauseous from the pain, so maybe I'd skip dinner. Allegra had asked me during class what had happened to me when I ran out of the previous lesson, but I brushed off her questions. I still had my pride intact and I didn't want my classmates finding out I'd gotten injured.
'You coming to dinner?' Allegra asked, looking back at me, because I was walking quite slowly.
'Erm, I'm not that hungry.' I smiled. 'You go, I'm heading back to my dorm.'
She nodded looking a bit concerned, but left anyway.
I made a conscious effort to speed up my walk a bit.
'Miss Hook!' A horribly familiar voice sounded from a few feet behind me. I visibly cringed. Go away.
Lady Lesso easily caught up with me. 'What the hell happened to you?'
'Nothing.' I rolled my eyes, starting to walk away. She swung her cane in front of me, stopping me in my tracks, but she caught my side and I thought I was going to throw up from the pain.
'No, I require an explanation, you just ran out of my class and didn't return!' She snarled. 'As a student here, you are required to attend your lessons and not leave them when you feel like it! You're lucky I didn't fail you!'
I was starting to get seriously irritated. 'Well considering I nearly died of a stab wound, the lesson was the least of my worries.' I said sarcastically.
'What are you talking about?'
'Sage stabbed me with a small knife.' I sighed. 'I was pretty much bleeding out, and luckily I ran into an Ever who helped me.'
She narrowed her blue eyes. 'Right.'
The longer I looked at her, the more I wanted to either kiss her or kill her. I turned on my heel, leaving before I changed my mind. This time she didn't try to stop me.
I headed back up to my dorm, gently easing myself onto my bed and went to sleep. It didn't take long; I was more tired than I realised.

I woke up to a banging on my door. I opened my eyes blearily. 'What?' I yelled.
'Katherine, it's us!' I heard Hester say. 'Let us in.'
I opened the door with my magic, too tired to move. Hester, Anadil, Hort and Dot bounded in, and headed over, sitting on my huge bed.
'Katherine, what's wrong, we didn't see you at dinner.' Dot asked, concerned.
'I just wasn't hungry. I got stabbed by a student earlier in class, and the pain was kind of getting to me by dinner.' I explained.
'Who is it, I'll rip her hair from her scalp with her own knife.' Hester growled.
'Sage.' I slowly sat up.
'Oh, that bitch. She'd better hope she doesn't run into me.' Anadil piped up.
'Anyways, we brought you some food in case you were hungry.' Hort said, handing me a small bag.
'Thanks Hort.' I smiled gratefully. Inside were some chicken strips, some mozzarella sticks and a bagel.
'We thought you'd been taken to the Doom Room or something.' Dot commented, as I pulled out a chicken strip, biting down on it.
'The Doom Room?' I said questioningly.
'Torture chamber for students who misbehave.' Hester explained. 'It's very rare a student gets sent there, but we all know how feisty you are.'
I laughed. 'I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen then, sometime this year.'
'So, what's the deal with Lady Lesso, then?' Hester asked unexpectedly.
My head snapped around to look at her so fast I was surprised I didn't get whiplash. 'I - What?'
'We noticed you kept glancing at her during dinner yesterday.' Dot giggled. 'We also noticed your reaction when you saw her during your arrival. Recognition is one of the hardest expressions to conceal. Even you couldn't hide it properly.'
'Oh god.' I groaned in annoyance.
'Go on, spill the poison!' Hester cackled.
'I met her once over the summer.' I admitted. 'It was a very brief thing, but... she kissed me.'
'Whaat?' Anadil squealed, laughing. 'You kissed the Dean for the school of Evil!'
'I had no idea who she was at the time!' I threw my hands up in defence. 'If I did, I wouldn't have gone near her. And anyway, she kissed me first.'
'Oh, that's awkward.' Hort roared with laughter.
'Stop!' I yelled; I could feel myself blushing. 'It's obviously not going to happen again. She's my teacher.'
'Probably for the best, she's fucking vicious.' Anadil commented.
I nodded, turning to Hort. 'So brother from another mother, how's life?' I asked, abruptly changing the subject.
'Great.' He grinned. 'I think I'm getting the hang of werewolf classes.'
'Show us.' Dot said excitedly.
'Dot, I'd rather not have a werewolf running around my room!' I shook my head.
This was nice, me and my friends sat in my room, laughing and talking about life. It was moments like this that made the bad times worth it. For a first day, it was quite eventful. Between making a new friend, getting stabbed by another classmate, and Lesso going from ignoring me to pissing me off, it wasn't my most quiet first day. I hoped it wasn't going to be like this for the rest of the year, because I was not in the mood to have another near-death experience. It wasn't nearly as fun as I thought it would be.
