Little y/n was sitting on the bed, anxious. She had just been wedded off. She hadn't even seen her husband before marriage. And even during the ceremony, she didn't lift her eyes up to see him since her mother had instructed her not to.They had a traditional Buddhist wedding ceremony that went for hours. Which drained her energy.
Her family was strict and so was the society in the 90s. Parents decided what was good for their kids and they had to obey that.
She looked around the room, her husband wasn't extremely rich but he earned pretty well from his small business.
From a very young age, Jungkook started earning as his father died, he had a younger sister and a brother to take care of with an old mother. He was very responsible and calm for his age.
Y/n was wearing such accessories for the first time. Even her hanbok was heavy. She wanted to take it off but her mother had instructed her to not do that, since it was considered an omen to change before your husband saw you.
Y/n was hungry too, she looked around for something to eat since no one asked her for food or served her something as they settled her in the room.
Her mother in law was already talking about a grandson, while she was confused with her sarcastic statements.
Y/n's eyes lit up as she saw oranges in the fruit basket, they looked stale but she was too hungry to notice that.
She struggled to get out of the bed and reach the table. She grabbed the orange and was about to eat it when the door opened.
The orange slipped from her hand and travelled to the foot of her husband.
Jungkook bent down and picked it up before looking at her, scrutinizing her. She looked rather scared, as if she had committed a crime.
"I-I was hungry." she bowed apologizing.
"It's stale." he paused as he closed the door and walked to his cupboard to take out his clothes. He was tired and wanted to sleep."You are hungry?" he asked rumagging through his cupboard.
"No, I am fine." she lied.
He didn't say anything and walked to her before giving the biscuit hidden in his almirah to her.
"I won't scold you for eating something. It's not a crime." he talked as calmly as he could. She looked at him and smiled.
"Really? My school master would always scold me everytime he found me chewing something in his class. Also, Mom wouldn't let me-"
"You go to school?" Jungkook was surprised as he cut her off. He didn't look at her that deeply to realize that.
"Used to!" she sighed eating the biscuit.
"What do you mean? What's your age?" he asked baffled.
He didn't know anything about y/n, his mom asked him to marry her and he did. He never questioned it. But he wasn't expecting his mom to marry him to school girl. He was 29 after all. He wanted a mature partner for himself.
"Once your mom dropped the marriage proposal at my place, my father cut my name off my school and insisted me to learn the household chores." she shrugged her shoulders."I am 16." he gasped, it felt like he committed a crime. He felt disgusted.
She was a kid, how could he see her as a wife?
It was pretty common for girls to get married that early during 90s in villages.
"How come I didn't know about this?" he asked to himself breathing heavily. He felt betrayed by his mom.
"Like I didn't know about you?" Y/n shrugged her shoulders and flinched as Jungkook thumped the table in irritation. He realized he scared her so went out."Mom!" he went inside his mom's room.
