Trying to get into school was a horror show as there was news vans parked all the way round, cameras flashing, it was a surprise you could even see the school through the bright light.
Reporters talking about what had occurred Sunday night and trying to get any inside scoop from students of the two victims.
The cheerleader Casey Becker and her jock boyfriend Steve Orth were brutally murdered on Sunday night, sparking up rumors of a killer on the loose.
There hadn't been a murder this gruesome since....well a murder at all since Maureen Prescott, Sidney's mom.
It sparked up rumors because as far as everybody knew Maureen's murderer was in prison waiting to be put on trial and sentenced to death.
Marlene was leaning up against a tree as she surveyed everything that was going on, she had already got a microphone shoved in her face by Gale Weathers this morning.
She was lighting up a cigarette as she looked up to see Billy Loomis pull up in his truck, opening the door as he got out.
Pushing herself off of the tree as she started to make her way towards them.
She watched as he walked around to the back door as he opened it to let out his sister Matilda, along with his best friend and Matilda's boyfriend Stu, as he gave them both lifts to school everyday.
"I don't know why you have to have child lock on! It would save you having to open the door for us every time", Marlene got to her friends just as she heard Matilda giving out stink to her brother.
Giving her an eye roll he huffed turning to Marlene, greeting her with a 'i'm done being a parent to these two' look as he took the cigarette from her lips and took a long drag.
"Stressed?", Marlene grinned at him as he held out the cigarette for her to take, which she did.
"Very", he said to her quietly after blowing smoke passed her face, hitting her ear, before he turned back to his sister.
"Well if you and Stu wouldn't have tried jumping out of the car when it was moving just because me and Marlene wouldn't let you go to the candy shop, maybe I wouldn't have to have the child lock on", Billy shot back at Matilda, the girl in question pouting at him.
"That was one time-"
"And when we wouldn't let you guys stop off at the water park", Marlene added on cutting Stu off.
You would swear Marlene and Billy were a married couple with the way they talked and treated Matilda and Stu, acting like two parents with their troubled teens.
Marlene took a puff of the cigarette before shaking her head disappointedly, standing so close to Billy's side that when she popped her hip out he had to grab onto her shoulder.
Before either Matilda or Stu could come up with a good enough comeback they heard someone yelling towards them.
"Hey guys!", The group of four turned to see Tatum Riley, another one of their friends waving them over from where she was standing with Sidney.
Now Marlene wouldn't particularly call either of the girls her friends, maybe Tatum but not Sidney because...let's just say she wouldn't particularly hate it if it was just the previous group of four.
The group then started to make their way back into the paparazzi's den as they made way towards the two girls, both of the boys pushing any cameras and microphones that came their way out of their faces.
"....it's bad!", was what they heard Tatum telling Sidney as they got closer, Sidney seemingly having not known of Casey and Steve's murders, only just finding out.
Tatum turned to greet the four that had just got to them when the school bell rang. "Catch you guys later", was all she said before she disappeared into the crowd of students.
Everyone at school thought Matilda looked a lot like Tatum, but that was only because Tatum got her hair done the same as Matilda to try look like her.
Why you may ask? Because Tatum has had a crush on Matilda's boyfriend Stu for a while now.
"Hey Babe!", Marlene cringed as she heard Billy greet Sidney like that.
She kept her eyes on everything but them, ending up zoning out of the conversation all together as she tried not to look in the direction of the lovey dovey Billy and Sidney.
Only blinking as she heard someone clearing their throat and snapping her head to the side quickly.
Being met with the sight of Stu, who had cleared his throat, with his arms around Matilda's shoulders as they both watched her.
As they opened their mouths to probably deliver a witty remark, Marlene already started walking away when she cut them off.
"I'll see you guys at lunch", She had to practically yell over her shoulder at the couple.
"You don't want us to walk you to class?", Billy shouted after her. "Marls!"
"No", she yelled, not looking back.
Billy watched her go before Sidney put her hands on his face to avert his attention to her and away from Marlene.
Billy still watched her out of the corner of his eye as she pushed her way through the crowd, people clearing the way for her as she made her way through the crowded halls until she eventually got consumed by the mass of people.
Stu and Matilda watched her practically run away, before glancing at each other then back to Marlene before looking back at each other and bursting into a fit of laughter.
"C'mon I'll walk you to class", Stu held Matilda up as they continued to laugh. "Wouldn't want my lady getting lost!"
"You're gonna be late for yours!", Matilda told him although knowing that is exactly why he was walking her to class.
See Matilda is younger than the rest of the friend group. Only by a year but it still meant that she wasn't in their year, which continues in to her not being in any of her friends classes.
This also meant that she didn't have any friends in her classes as she didn't speak to anyone in her year so she dreaded going to class.
But it always meant that she could look forward to going to lunch as Stu would always brighten her day up, along with her group of friends.
"My lady, your classroom", Stu bowed as low to the ground as he could, kissing Matilda's hand.
Matilda laughed at him and jokingly bowed back, getting on her toes and kissing him on the cheek.
"I'll see you at lunch", she smiled before turning to open the door to the classroom but being pulled back into a hug.
"Can't wait to see what you have for lunch today", he squeezed her tight, already planning to rob her lunch.
"You're just gonna have to wait and see", she teased, truly not minding that he always took parts of her lunch.
Giving her head a few pecks he let Matilda go, comedically pushing her forward as he opened the door to the classroom, bowing again.
Walking in she turned her head to the side so he could hear her. "Get to class", before sending him off by blowing him a kiss.
Which in Stu manner he dramatically caught it and held it close to his heart. Smiling to himself when he heard her laugh and feeling complete that he could now make his way to class.
Even if he was very late.
