When Marlene got to the station there were already news vans surrounding the place and to no surprise amongst them was none other than Gale Weathers.I mean you had to admire her passion for fame and recognition as she seemed to always be the first at a crime scene either before or straight after the crime happened.
Pulling her hair out from behind her ears to block her face Marlene beelined for the door, luckily for her Gale seemed to be fighting people for being in her way, too busy to notice Marlene slipping in.
She walked in just as two police officers were dragging Billy out to put him in a holding cell for the night or until they got his phone records back.
"Tell 'em. Come on, Dad", Billy was looking back not noticing Marlene as he tried to stay put for a second but the police officers were dragging him as his dad and Matilda walked behind him. "Tell 'em! Sidney."
"Wait for the lawyer, Billy", Hank told his son who was trying to get Sidney's attention as she wouldn't even look at him.
"Sidney, come on. You know me", Billy called trying to get her to at least acknowledge him.
Matilda slowed down a bit as she looked down at Sidney who was quivering in her chair as she passed, Sidney looking up and making eye contact with the usually bubbly girl.
Giving a slight begging look and going to say something she was cut off by the disappointed look she got from the usually perky blonde, who only shook her head and walked off to be with her brother.
"Come on", a police officer pushed him.
"Sidney, look at me!", Billy sounded like he was begging.
"He's trouble", someone said.
Having to stand against the wall as the two police officers were bringing Billy out, Marlene and Billy made eye contact.
Billy's eyes lit up a bit as Marlene gave him a nod as he was pulled by, giving her a nod back before he turned a corner.
She was stained by the smell of smoke, he could smell it off of her just by being dragged past her, he didn't care. He liked the smell, besides, he knew she only did it because she was worried.
But seeing Billy calmed Marlene's nerves more than a whole box of cigarettes could ever.
"Hey MarMar!", Matilda smiled at the girl, giving her a side hug.
"Hey! What's going on?", Marlene asked the girl still not completely knowing what's going on.
"Ghostface called and showed up at Sidney's house", Matilda gave her friend a look. "And Billy climbed through her window and scared him away but Sidney's blaming Billy and branding him as the killer."
Rolling her eyes Marlene couldn't expect anything less from Sidney. "You coming to Tatums for the sleepover?", Marlene switched the topic.
"With Sidney there? God no!", Matilda shook her head. "Stu's outside waiting for me."
"You're really gonna leave me with them", Marlene groaned at just the thought.
"You wanna come stay at Stu's with me!", Matilda asked excitedly, bouncing slightly on the balls of her feet.
Weighing between the pros and cons in her mind, Marlene didn't think either was a good option.
"For you two to leave me on my own to hear you two going at it? I think I'll take my chances at the Riley's", Marlene told the girl who just laughed.
"Touché!", Matilda shrugged. "I'm going to go out to Stu now, I'll see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow", Marlene nodded, praying that it'll come fast.
