Chapter 12

"You look happy," I heard Mommy say. I raised a brow and stopped browsing my phone. I looked at her and she was wiggling her brows at me. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"Seriously, Mom?" I asked. She shrugged.

"What? I'm just asking!"

"Your tone is different!"

She laughed at me. "Oh you're just defensive."

My mouth dropped and she just laughed. "My gosh, Mommy. Seriously?"

She just laughed even more. I shook my head as I looked at my mother.

"What? I am just curious. You have been so busy with law school," she said. I rolled my eyes again.

"Whose fault kaya na super busy ko sa law school?" I said pa. It was Mom's turn to shake her head naman.

"But I thought you are enjoying it na rin naman? So, what's with the fuzz, huh?" She raised a brow at me. I pressed my lips together.

"Yeah, yeah, fine," I said na lang. My mom giggled again. Gosh. Nakakaloka talaga siya. She get all mushy and all!

"So, bakit ka nga masaya, hmm?" she asked na naman like she was teasing me. My mouth parted. I looked at her unbelievably.

"Mommy! Pati ba naman pagiging happy ko issue?"

"Oh please, Rhaia! Who's the lucky man, hmm? Doudge ba?"

"What?!" my eyes almost popped out of their sockets because of what mom said. "Mommy, what the hell! No kaya! Doudge has a girlfriend! OMG ka, Mommy!" I said to her, my eyes still widened. Kasi naman, no! Nakakaloka si Mommy! Of all people, si Doudge talaga? Hello?! Hell no!

"Fine, fine, kaya nga I'm asking, e. Kilala kita, no. You're always like that pag may crush ka or something. Come on, hija! I just want to know!" Mom giggled again. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.

Hindi ko na lang siya pinansin and umalis na rin ako roon kasi gosh. I didn't wanna stay there kasi gosh I didn't want to go through that talk with mom kasi she'll end up being annoying na naman. Gosh.

I sighed and went back to my room. I still had so many backlogs and my mind is swirling na. I slumped my back on the bed and got my laptop. I started browsing my backlogs then I got my phone din to check our viber group. Super ingay na nila ni Cairish doon about the cases later. Gosh, I haven't even finished one! Hmp!

Cairish:

What case ka na, Rhai?

Sumimangot ko.

Havent done one! 😭😭😭

Walang excuse ang heartbroken kay atty uy HAHAHAHAH

I groaned in frustration. Gosh. These guys! Kainis! Hmpp. I turned off my phone na lang para makapagbasa na rin ako kasi feeling ko ako iyong lugi sa mga friends ko. I mean, hello, they're on what case na tapos ako ito panay scroll. Ughh whatever!

I purposely hid my phone in the drawer of my bedside table. Nag-silent mode din ako kasi I felt like if I hear their notifications, I'll end up scrolling through my phone lang din so wala rin akong mare-read na cases.

I was like that for how many hours din until I finally had enough. I mean, wala ng pumapasok sa utak ko so ayoko na talagang pilitin. There was no use na pilitin, no! Ughh gosh.
