The navy haired man sighed as he made his way up the long ramps that lead to the Akadamiya. If it weren't considered rude, he would have given up and simply used his anemo vision to fly to the top by now. But since he'd made a promise to the dendro Archon herself that he'd try and be better, he took the regular route along with everyone else.
He hadn't expected to even be visiting the place today, but having received a summon from Nahida, he couldn't exactly ignore her call for assistance. Still; usually he was more partial to just...wandering around, rather than having a specific task at any given time. She was aware of this, so for her to call him all the way to the Akademiya on a day like today meant it was probably something important.
What a nuisance. Times like this made him wonder if there really was no peace left for him, even after erasing his previous identity from Irminsul and taking on this new one.
Regardless, something within him always made him obey what the dendro Archon asked; whether that was loyalty or simply spite though, even he couldn't tell.
He made his way onto the next platform leading up to the pristine white building, taking note of the large number of people that were gathered by the entrance. From the look of it, many of them were Matra, and he recognized a man with white hair and a headpiece resembling some sort of cat as their leader. Scholars stood among them as well, along with normal people; all wearing scared or sad expressions on their faces.
"How irritating..." The navy haired man whispered to himself as he waltzed past them all; no one so much as noticing his presence in the process. That was how he liked it, anyway. Gone were the days where he expected others to bow down in his presence; now he simply wished for them to leave him alone and stay out of his way.
He wasn't sure of the cause for such a large crowd, and nor did he really care to know. That Matra gathered outside told him it probably had to do with some case they were working on, but he'd never heard of one that needed so much manpower before.
It had to be the recent missing person's case.
Though he paid little attention to the news of the mortals around him, even he hadn't been exempt from hearing all about how people throughout Sumeru had been disappearing without a trace. Supposedly, there was no evidence as to whom was responsible yet, but with each passing day, more and more people were affected either by the loss of a loved one or by being taken away themselves.
Finally, he reached the familiar tall door he'd stood in front of so many times before. Mentally preparing himself to be issued what would inevitably be a time-consuming task, he raised a hand to knock on the marble surface, only for it to start opening on its own a second before he could. Still, he recovered from his shock quickly as the doors opened fully; revealing a child with white hair standing in the middle of the room.
She turned around upon hearing someone at the entrance, and as soon as she realized who it was, a big smile bloomed across her face.
"Wanderer." She called, motioning for him to enter the room. He did, ignoring how the large doors creaked shut behind him, and made his way down the steps to where the girl was sitting in the middle of the floor.
A part of him still wasn't used to being called that, but then again, it was the title he'd chosen for himself upon starting over as this new person. He'd wanted to shed himself of his old name, and for lack of any better ideas, this one had been the result.
"You called for me?" He asked, barely trying to hide the irritation in his voice over her summoning of him so suddenly. Nahida just smiled wider.
"Yes," she replied as she pushed herself up off the floor and stood in front of him now. Even when she stood completely straight, she was still easily half his size. Sometimes, it was hard for him to remember this was the all-powerful god of wisdom when she looked like a small child. Turning, she gestured towards a group of people he hadn't noticed were standing off to the right and they immediately made their way out of the room.
