You sat near the front of the opera house with Wanderer by your side, as per usual. Since beginning this whole operation, there had hardly been many moments where the two of you were apart; for better or for worse. It was all for show, but at the same time, you were starting to get more accustomed to him being there.

Currently, you were watching a court case the chief justice, a close acquaintance of yours, had invited you to attend. There had been a few times where you'd had tea with Monsieur Neuvillette; each of them very pleasant, and while you'd never outwardly told him of your past, you got the feeling he had some idea of it anyway. Regardless, he always provided the best pastries when the two of you met up, so you were more than happy to entertain his company.

Somewhere behind you, you could feel the ever-present gaze of your ex-husband as his eyes bore into your back. You hadn't even needed to ensure his presence in the court today; it had simply happened because he knew you would be here. You tried to assure yourself that that was a positive thing; that it meant the mission was going well, but somehow, you couldn't see it that way no matter how hard you tried.

It just felt like you were putting yourself in a bad situation on purpose.

The case going on actually happened to be a divorce one; the irony of which was not lost on you. Not only that, but you happened to know the couple currently battling in this trial, providing you with some interesting background information on them.

"...And that is why my client deserves a sum of half his money in order to finalize this divorce!" The woman's lawyer announced as the rest of the crowd murmured in response. Clearly, they weren't so sure.

"You said you know these people?" Wanderer asked, causing you to nod.

"I host a lot of parties and they're usually on the guest list. We're not close but when you're rich and in Fontaine, you invite anyone notable enough." You explained as he nodded too. The case had been pretty boring so far; just a typical divorce, and you could tell he was resisting the urge to yawn. "Not a fan of Fontaine's court system?" You asked with an amused smile. Since it was so dark in the audience, it wasn't as if you needed to pretend to be in love with him right now, so this time, it was genuine.

"It wouldn't have been my date location of choice." Wanderer replied and you had to hold in your laughter. Now would have been a very bad time to burst out like that, considering the husband on stand was recounting every horrible thing his wife had supposedly done over the course of their marriage.

"The cases are usually more interesting than this," you told him once you'd composed yourself, "But I have to admit, as far as divorces go, this one really lacks any spice to it."

"I'm sure your own case is hard to beat." The navy haired man said and you playfully rolled your eyes. It was true though; you would probably never be involved with another court case as heated as your own had been when the Tsaritsa forced Zandik to divorce you.

Wanderer hadn't actually been present when you and the doctor had split. In fact, he hadn't even been aware that it had happened; he'd just assumed you died or something when he stopped hearing the other harbingers talk about you or seeing the light-blue-haired man drag you around the Snezhnayan palace. Still, he was sure the process was a sight to witness.

"I guess you're right," you replied finally with a grin, "But this case would definitely be better with a little more...Flair? Drama?" He nodded, knowing what you meant as he turned his gaze back to the stage.

"Needs more plot twists." He said finally and you nodded eagerly.

"Exactly! Like maybe...Maybe he was cheating on her! With their housekeeper!" Wanderer raised an eyebrow at that but didn't dismiss the idea. Instead, he went a step further.
