"It's time," Lyney spoke, turning to the rest of the group, which consisted of his brother, sister, and Wanderer, since their father was currently elsewhere preparing for the damage they were about to cause. "Y/n's been down there long enough." And indeed, you had. Prior to you approaching the doctor, you and the magician had agreed on a set amount of time he would let you be alone with him for before breaking into the place if you didn't provide a signal otherwise. That time was more than up now, and he was anxious to get you out sooner, rather than later.

It was time to put an end to Dottore's experiments once and for all. The others simply nodded before following him over to the tree you'd entered through. It was a good thing they'd all been watching at the time, or they definitely wouldn't have known how to get in.

Lynette stepped forward, being the most skilled with getting into places undetected, and silently opened the tree-bark-door to reveal the dark staircase leading to the bottom. Meanwhile, Wanderer drew in a breath. The last time he'd been so close to one of Dottore's labs had been when the two of them had worked together. Now, of course, these were extremely different circumstances.

Downstairs, he knew you were likely trying to keep the doctor's attention on anything but the entrance to his space so they could get in, and it only made him feel worse about it all.

With a sigh, he followed Lynette down the stairs along with the others as silently as he could.

Luckily, you seemed to have your ex-husband wrapped around your finger, preventing him from suspecting a thing even as the stairs creaked lightly from the entrance of your associates.

You'd been trying to locate and get close to the lab door for a few minutes now in order to make sure it was unlocked for the others, but every time the two of you got close, Dottore would suddenly pull you into a different room; claiming he had something important to show you there. But he was running out of 'important things' now and you were more than ready to use that to your advantage.

Standing up now, you continued smiling as you began casually making your way over to the door to his lab.

"What have you been working on lately, anyway?" You asked curiously as you grabbed the handle and pushed the door ever so slightly open. Before you could do any more, though, a hand immediately grabbed you by the arm and yanked you away as if it were poisonous. You looked up to see the doctor nearly fuming at your actions and swallowed harshly in an attempt to keep yourself calm.

But his anger disappeared almost as fast as it had arrived. "That's nothing you should be concerned with," he replied casually, pulling you closer so that one of his arms was draped over your shoulders as he lead you away, "Remember how boring my experimental work was back in Snezhnaya? This is no better." You would hardly have called the experiments that lead to your immortality 'boring,' especially with how painful they'd been, but you kept your mouth shut.

"And even I haven't been in there for a while, so it's mess right now," your ex-husband went on, "After all, my main priority has always been getting you and your memories back, which I've now accomplished." You smiled a bright, fake smile at that before nodding.

"And I will be forever thankful for it, dear." You assured him, even throwing in the old pet name in an attempt to further distract him from your interest in his experiments. From there, you let him lead you into the nearby kitchen as he suggested making tea for the two of you. Again, it was decorated to look exactly like your old kitchen in Snezhnaya; even having the same wallpaper. You weren't sure how he'd managed that, considering the store you'd initially bought it from had gone out of business years ago, but it didn't matter.
