"You don't have to drag me like this; I can walk on my own!"
Mingi began to resist. He couldn’t take it anymore. Why did Leedo have to continue this aggression since they stepped out of the car?
Leedo didn’t answer. He simply kept dragging Mingi into his bedroom.
He roughly pushed Mingi's body until it slammed hard against the wall.
"Argh!" Mingi's body slumped to the floor. The strength of Kim Gunhak’s rage was immense. Mingi hadn’t even had a chance to rub his sore arm when Leedo, without warning, forcibly removed all the clothing covering Mingi's torso, leaving him bare-chested.
"What are you going to do?!" Mingi saw Leedo unfastening his belt.
"ARGH!!!" Mingi screamed as he felt the harsh lash extending from his arm to his chest. That was just one. But Leedo already saw the red marks on Mingi’s skin. Leedo’s movements were too fast and strong. Mingi couldn’t get up, so he stayed in place, trying to protect himself by hugging his body and turning his back to Leedo. But Leedo forcibly turned Mingi around and removed the protection he had made with his arms. Mingi winced in pain as it was truly excruciating for him. After that, he couldn’t move his fingertips.
With another lash, Leedo continued attacking him. He did it repeatedly, with the same anger and tantrum he had when beating Yunho at the café earlier. And amidst the lashes, there were Mingi’s cries, occasionally asking Leedo to stop the torment.
"I’m sure your pain is nothing compared to the pain I’m feeling right now!"
He lashed him again.
And Mingi screamed again. He had tears of agony, crying with deep sorrow.
"I can’t believe I made so many sacrifices and adored someone as disgusting as you all this time!"
Leedo continued whipping him.
And Mingi kept trying to plead for him to stop.
"Take this! You really deserve it, YOU WORTHLESS BITCH!!!"
In the final lash, Leedo threw his belt against Mingi’s battered and helpless body, feeling utterly crushed.
He gripped Mingi’s jaw, forcing him to look at him. "Listen. I’m still being kind to you right now. But if I catch you fooling around with another man again," he paused when he saw Mingi blinking weakly. "I will wait for you to give birth to my child and take it with me, then I’ll send you straight back to your parents. Remember that."
Mingi could only breathe heavily. That was all he could do with the remaining strength he had. Because he had nothing left but wounds and blood covering his body—his chest, abdomen, arms, back, neck, and even part of his face. It was truly unbearable. This was truly a bad midday for him.
"Why are you still with me if there’s only another man on your mind? My children don’t need a rotten-hearted mother like you!" With the last sentence, Leedo threw his grip off Mingi’s face.
He walked out of the room, locking the door from the outside, and left.
For more than a quarter of a day, he locked Mingi inside without giving him anything—food, not even a word. Let alone any form of affection. He was treating Mingi the way Mingi used to punish Jisung and Taeyoung whenever his two sons made a serious mistake and needed to be made to learn.
But in truth, Leedo didn’t have a complete goal. He just wanted to vent all his bad emotions. That’s all. And for now, he still didn’t feel satisfied. He was sure that the relationship Mingi and Yunho had been going on for a very long time. This rough venting was still nothing compared to their actions.
With a lie, Leedo made Jisung and Taeyoung believe that Mingi wouldn’t be coming back home for a while. So with that lie, he made the two boys willing to go to Leedo’s parents’ house tomorrow and stay there for a while. He had to solve his problem with Mingi alone here.
The sun had just set. He had just finished dinner with Jisung and Taeyoung and immediately asked them to go to bed. But it was still too early; they both wanted to spend more time and energy playing. Leedo said it was up to them, but do it in the room and don’t make noise.
Because he himself was going to bed now.
The night had just come, but he felt very exhausted. His energy was drained along with his emotions.
Entering the room, he saw Mingi still there. Weakly sitting, with his head bowed. Mingi was still awake, unable to move with too many thoughts and an empty stomach, making him unable to close his eyes.
Leedo walked over, crouching down, and gripping Mingi’s jaw to make him look into his eyes. Eyes that had lost their sparkle. It seemed as if there was no life or hope left in them.
"Actually, I wanted to leave you outside. But I don’t want the kids to see you. So you will sleep here tonight. On this floor." He gave a sweet yet sarcastic smile. "Besides, the sofa feels too soft and comfortable for you, who is undergoing punishment."
Mingi’s tears flowed again. With what Leedo had done, he couldn’t believe it. He didn’t expect his husband could become so cruel, so terrifying, and so heartless when it came to behind-the-scenes games. Now Mingi could believe what his college friends used to say—that Kim Gunhak was violence in human form.
No, no. Mingi was even sure that Kim Gunhak was the very definition of violence itself.
"Oh, stop crying because I don’t feel sympathy or fall for those tears. After all, a wretched person like you deserves to be punished. Got it?" Leedo released his grip. Mingi knew Leedo was lying. He knew Leedo cared. It was clear from Leedo’s eyes, which were again watery. Only he fought hard to keep the clear droplets from falling. Mingi knew that half of those tears were also a reflection of pain in his heart.
Mingi had to admit he felt very guilty about that.
Should he start leaving Jung Yunho and return to reality?
Return to what he was supposed to live and leave all the pleasures behind?
Leedo dragged his steps to their medium-sized bed. Pulling the thick blanket, lying on his back, while Mingi cautiously began lying on the floor and slowly closing his eyes. Mingi hugged his cold body, occasionally groaning in pain.
Leedo, on the other hand, was still awake. The unexpected events he encountered today still lingered and remained in his mind.
"Do you really bless our relationship and fully allow us to commit to marriage?"
Young Kim Gunhak’s eyes sparkled with half happiness and half disbelief at the answer his mother had just given.
The middle-aged woman nodded and lovingly stroked her son's head.
"Of course. I’m sure that Mingi is the best for you. You can guide him towards goodness, and he will bring you happiness."
Leedo’s mother loved Mingi very much and respected him because even though Mingi was a wild young man outside, he always maintained his manners in front of elders like a nobleman.
And with the brief answer his mother gave, the young man embraced the woman tightly and expressed his thanks profusely.
A young man who never thought that in his adulthood, he would encounter such betrayal and immense sadness.
Before closing his eyes to enter the dream world, he felt something warm wetting his eyes. Also, his pillow. The defense finally crumbled, and his sadness didn’t dissipate. Even though his chest had stopped rumbling. But there was a thorough devastation.
He knew. If Mingi had found a new love,
Then Mingi would never let him go.
