Dorothy's P.O.V

Scarecrow and I have been walking in the castle for a while now. The halls and various rooms were beautiful and huge! The only downside to this place was the green. You look to one side and there would be green walls, green floors, green dolls, and green doors. You look to the other side and there would be green girls and green boys with green curls and green toys. I wash green too! Though not with envy. I was just getting sick of all the green!"How do you deal with it?" I muttered to Scarecrow, keeping my voice low so I wouldn't accidentally offend somebody who lived here.
"Deal with what?" He responded, also keeping his voice low.
"All the green!" I whisper-exclaimed, my eyes widening to add emphasis. He laughed softly before taking a quick look around. I copied the look around, seeing that everyone was leaving, probably to retire for the night. "I spend most of my time in my room, which has no green in it whatsoever. Actually, green is my least favorite color." He muttered quietly. I gasped in disbelief.
"You live in and rule a city, that is nothing but, and is even named after a gem that's your least favorite color?!" I somewhat exclaimed while keeping my voice low.
"I know. It is highly abnormal." He replied, gaining laughter from the both of us, although I'm pretty sure we were laughing for two very different reasons. I was laughing at him because he tried to act casual while sounding smart at the same time. I think he is laughing because he thinks he made a good joke. Either way we were both laughing our heads off and gaining some odd looks from some of the older staff members who were passing by.
((Time Skip))
"Alright, here's where you'll be staying for now." Scarecrow said as we arrived in front of a large pair of doors. "Unfortunately it's still mostly green. Although if you'd like, tomorrow I can have the staff change it up so it's less green."
"Oh it's no big deal. I'll be fine." I said humbly, not wanting to seem like the spoiled brat who can just walk in somewhere like she owns the place and gets whatever she wants.
"No, no, no. Don't reject it. I would like to do something for you!" He replied, waving his hands back and forth, refusing to obey my rejection.
"There's no way you're going to take a no as an answer are you?" I asked, smirking and folding my arms over my chest since I already knew the answer.
"Bingo, kiddo." He replied with his signature goofy smile. I just shook my head, smiling and turning towards the doors. "Alright, I'll see you tomorrow then." I said, pulling the doors open slightly.
"See ya tomorrow. My room is right across the hall. If you need anything don't be afraid to walk in alright?" He said, turning to walk across the hall to his room.
"Alright, good night." I replied, opening the door more and slipping in partially, keeping my head poked out of the door so I could see Scarecrow still.
"Good night, Dorothy. Swee- Oof!" He accidentally stumbled while walking backwards and he fell, flat on his butt. He got up quickly, face red as he finished what he was saying, "Sweet dreams!" I giggled, closing the door the rest of the way, sliding into the room. I looked around and saw Toto flouncing around on the bed. "Toto. You goober." I said while giggling as I approached what I assumed was the bathroom. "Holy crap." I said in disbelief. as I opened the door to the bathroom. "TOTO COME LOOK AT THIS!" I shouted, dashing into the bedroom area. Toto leaped off of the bed and darted towards me as I ran back to the bathroom. It was white and light pink! There wasn't a hint of green anywhere to be seen! "It's a miracle, Toto! It's not green!" I looked down at the small black dog and even he looked amazed at the fact that the bathroom wasn't green.
My eyes scanned the room and I noticed there was a silver nightgown hanging on a hanger. I assumed it was left there for me to change into. So I slipped off my blue denim dress and took off my boots and socks so I was left in just my undergarments. I slipped the dress on. It was very soft and cozy feeling. I'm pretty sure it was a silk dress lined with fleece. It also had ruffles lining the neck, sleeves, and bottom of the dress. I pulled my hair ties out of my braids, running my fingers through my hair to undo my work. Then I shook my head back and forth, whipping my hair around so it could settle in it's natural position easier and more comfortably. I turned on the faucet, normal water flowing from it. I smiled, cupping my hands underneath the flow, the cool water gathering in my hands. Then I tossed it up towards my, the liquid splashing my face. Then I rubbed my hands around on my cheeks and forehead before I turned the water back off and flicking some of the excess water off my hands. I grabbed a washcloth off of the stack they had kept nearby the sink and I used it to dry my face and hands off.
"I feel much better now Toto." I said as we walked out of the bathroom. I paused for a moment before backtracking, turning off the bathroom light before I started heading back to bed.
I flopped down on the bed, sinking into it. "This is heaven." I sighed. Then I moved up to the Pillows and edge of the blanket before tucking myself in. I then laid awake, eyes closed for a good 20 minutes. There was just one problem. I couldn't get to sleep. I sighed, opening my eyes and staring at the ceiling. "I wonder if Scarecrow is awake still." I muttered, turning my head towards the doors that led out into the hallway.
