Alastor shot awake, cold sweat running down his face, and his heart racing. He takes a big breath, trying to calm his nerves, and throws the blanket off of him. He always has the same nightmare on the same day. His mother's death day.

Alastor brings his hands to his head, covering his eyes as he sighs loudly. Tears threaten to fall as he relives the dream in his head. He was stood over his fathers' dead body, his emotion-less face bloody from the blood that spewed from the first stab wound. His mothers' ghost tackles him to the ground, yelling in his face how much of a disappointment he is for losing his way. She called him a no good son who deserves to be in hell.

Alastor sobs into his hands, unable to control his emotions any longer. His father abused him. He father killed his mother. He thought it was the right thing to do. He wanted to avenge his mother. The other murders were so he could survive, taking orders for money.

"Mother, I am truly sorry," he whispers into the void of his room, pulling his legs up to his chest, crying into them. "All I wanted to do was make you proud. He took you away from me."

Lucifer woke up in the middle of the night, mouth as dry as the Sahara. He walks out of his room in the hotel, only to be stopped by the sounds of cries coming from Alastor's room. Lucifer walks over to his room, knocking softly on the door.

"Alastor, is everything alright?" He asks softly, not wanting to wake up others around them. No answer came from the room. Lucifer turns the doorknob, finding the door unlocked, and walks in. Alastor is on his bed, curled up into a ball, silently crying after hearing the knock on his door. Lucifer closes the door behind him and walks over to Alastor, sitting on the edge of the bed. Alastor's body stiffens, afraid of anyone finding him this vulnerable.

"Do you need to talk?" Lucifer asks, reaching a hand out to touch Alastor's shoulder.

"Do not touch me," Alastor says, his voice cracking from the sobs. Lucifer retracts his hand, placing both of them in his lap.

"I'm sorry," he says, not moving his gaze from Alastor, "I want to help you."

Alastor lifts his head up slightly, looking Lucifer in the eyes. He sees genuine concern in Lucifer's eyes and places his head back down.

"I had a dream," Alastor whispers, tears threatening to fall as he remembers the cold voice of his mother's ghost. "In my human life, I killed my father after he had abused and killed my mother."

Lucifer's eyes darken from sadness, realizing how little he knows of Alastor. "That sounds awful."

"In my dream, I was standing over his dead body," Alastor swallows hard, tears falling down his face. "My mother's ghost started berating me. Saying I am nothing more than a disappointment and I have lost my way. She told me I was no longer her son because she doesn't want to be associated with a murder." Alastor sobs into his knees again, clutching the sheets that stuck to legs after he threw the blanket off.

Lucifer frowns, not really knowing what to do as Alastor doesn't want to be touched. He sat in the edge of the bed, listening to the sobs of the radio demon, feeling his own heart break a little.

"Can I give you a hug?" Lucifer asks, twiddling his thumbs together anxiously. Alastor freezes, stopping his sobs, though the tears continued to fall.

"Actually, yeah," Alastor says, his voice cracking. Lucifer quickly shifts into the bed and sits on his knees in front of Alastor, pulling him into a hug. Alastor stiffens at Lucifer's touch, but soon wraps his arms around him softly, crying into Lucifer's chest. Lucifer hugs him tighter, a tear of his own shedding as he listens to Alastor.

"She is right, I am a disappointment," he sobs out, trying to keep his voice quiet. Lucifer shushes him, placing his head on top of Alastor's.

"You are okay, Al. Don't think about the dream anymore. You have a family here," Lucifer whispers, clutching onto Alastor's shirt. Alastor cries harder into Lucifer's chest, relishing in the sweet words that fell out of his mouth. After a moment, Alastor's crying subsides and the silent room is filled with sniffles.

"Thank you, Luci."
